PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WMBB) – Kristen Vincent has nearly completed her 3rd year teaching 2nd grade at Tommy Smith Elementary. Consistently exuding positivity and kindness to all, Vincent knows she has truly found her calling in life and a home. 'I love working at Tommy Smith. It's honestly like working with a family dynamic,' said Vincent. 'Everybody is super supportive and is here to help one another, no matter what, at the drop of a hat. It's just like working at Disneyland every day, honestly. Her co-workers say the reason why the school feels like Disneyland is all thanks to Vincent. 'Kristen really is a shining light at our school,' added Tommy Smith Elementary School Media Specialist Wendy Blundon. 'She's always checking in on everyone. She makes sure everyone is having a good day. She just touches base, she communicates great, and she's just a great person to be around and to work with.' Some of the most effective ways to do that is by incorporating interactive activities into her lessons. 'I like to incorporate real-world activities as well as hands-on activities with my teaching, because I feel like if kids are playing, they're learning,' said Vincent. 'You have to meet their needs and where their understanding is because they are kids. So, making learning, engaging, and fun is my number one priority.' All in all, those around Kristen truly love and appreciate working alongside her. 'Kristen is kind, she's compassionate, she is loving and friendly,' added Blundon. 'She's just an all-around great teacher.' That is why Kristen Vincent is a Class Act. If there is someone who you think is a Class Act, don't wait to nominate them today. LYNN HAVEN, Fla. (WMBB) – In the truest sense, Lynn Haven Elementary School guidance counselor Sarah Thompson is a ray of sunshine. When you speak to her and others who work alongside her, there is one word that always seems to pop up when you describe Sarah. 'She is absolutely our campus encourager,' said Lynn Haven Elementary School Principal Stacie Anderson. 'She lifts people up when they're down. She's really somebody that people easily lean into. She's a wonderful listener. She just kind of lifts you up if you're feeling down, and it's happening all over campus.' 'They smile, they're happy to see me,' Thompson added. 'They want to come and talk to me because they know they're going to get encouragement and a pep talk and good advice.' Despite this being her first year as a guidance counselor, Thompson has perfected her approach to talking and getting on the same level as her students. Kindergarten teacher Hallie Evans inspires with dedication Her desire to help in any way possible truly makes her stand out amongst others. 'You just can't thank someone enough for having that nature of being a helper,' Anderson went on to say. 'She's really just kind of that servant to her community, helping people out, helping the students, the families, whatever the needs are. She's going to jump in and do our very best to help her find someone who can do it.' Thompson hopes her constant positivity and encouragement have a positive impact on the students at Lynn Haven Elementary. 'When you have a positive cheerleader at school, even when you're feeling down, that's going to help you, that's going to brighten your mood and lift your day, and want you to be motivated, that's going to help you be motivated,' said Thompson. Kindergarten teacher Hallie Evans inspires with dedication
BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WMBB) – Hallie Evans has been teaching kindergarten for two years now at Tyndall Academy, but her career in education began over 19 years ago at Cherry Street Elementary. During her time as a teacher, she has come to realize the passion and love she has for educating kindergartners and seeing them grow. 'To take them from just developing socialization skills and fine motor skills and then growing,' said Evans. 'Then they leave you reading, writing multiple sentences, adding, subtracting, it's rewarding.' Evans' love for teaching is contagious. Her energy radiates across the campus and is passed along to other teachers. Passionate educator Paula Rosignoli inspires at New Horizons Learning Center 'But when you see that smile and you see that positivity, it really enlightens me as a teacher to say, 'OK, I know she may have had a bad day and she's taken it in. I can do the same.' Again, that just shows how well she perceives herself here at Tyndall Academy,' added Tyndall Academy teacher Jennifer Meredith. Evans understands how important it is to keep her students engaged. By doing so, she is able to provide memorable learning experiences. 'I provide those meaningful experiences that still correlate with the standard but it's fun,' Evans went on to say. 'So if they're excited and we can do an activity that brings something, maybe boring and tedious, some fun to it, they're going to be engaged. They're going to be wanting to learn, they're going to put forth their best effort.' Her co-workers know how fortunate they are to have Evans working alongside them. 'She just is the epitome of an amazing teacher,' Meredith said. 'If I were to go back and say, well, my kindergarten teacher, I'd want it to be Mrs. Evans.' That is why Hallie Evans is a Class Act. If there is someone who you think is a Class Act, don't wait to nominate them today. All school employees are eligible for this award. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. Passionate educator Paula Rosignoli inspires at New Horizons Learning Center
PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WMBB) – Paula Rosignoli is a true professional in every sense of the word. She has been teaching both algebra and geometry at New Horizons Learning Center for a number of years now. For Rosignoli herself, teaching is all about letting your students blossom. 'You see that aha moment once they get it and then they blossom from there,' said Rosignoli. 'You show them the basic steps. I do that all the time, I break it down and show them what they need to do. All of a sudden, you see a breakthrough, and they get it. You can just see they can do anything at that point.' But don't just take it from Rosignoli. Her students notice the passion and dedication she has for them. 'Mrs. Rosignoli is the best teacher ever,' added New Horizons Learning Center student Shawn Brattin. 'She is smart with her work and helps us when we need help.' She understands firsthand how much time and effort they have put in to get to that point. His impact is felt throughout the entirety of the school's campus, and he has certainly left a lasting positive impression on his peers. 'A lot of times, whenever we look at who do you want teaching at Arnold High School? You really start off with who would I want my kids or my grandkids to be in a class?' said Arnold High School Principal Britt Smith. 'He's the person that I want my kids or my grandkids to have been in that class so that they could have the benefit of learning from him.' Charles always asks for 100% effort from his students, and by doing so, he knows he must match that energy and effort. He knows that by showing his love for teaching to his students, they will hopefully reciprocate and become better students and learners.
