Popeyes newest menu item is a first for the chicken chain. Here's when to get it
Popeyes is putting a twist on a menu favorite, and it's in a category all its own.
Customers can get their first bites of the new 'generously-sized' Popeyes chicken wraps starting Monday, June 2, at participating restaurants nationwide, according to the Miami-based chicken chain.
It's the first time Popeyes has offered wraps and marks a new menu category.
For $3.99, the 'grab-and-go style' snack is made with a crispy chicken tender, lettuce, shredded cheese, pickles and customers' choice of sauce, a product description said. It's then rolled in a flour tortilla inspired by Popeyes classic biscuits.
Customers can choose from three varieties:

'We wanted to create a Chicken Wrap that was undeniably Popeyes,' Chef Amy Alarcon, vice president of culinary innovation at Popeyes, said in a news release.
'Infusing the flavors from our famous biscuit into our wraps was the perfect way to ensure our signature flavors shined through.'
The rollout also includes a lineup of three new blueberry beverages: a blueberry lemonade, blueberry sweet tea and blueberry unsweet tea, Popeyes said. Pricing information wasn't immediately available.
Chicken is having another moment as rival chains, including McDonald's and Wendy's, have focused on expanding chicken offerings. The former has teased the return of its beloved snack wraps and recently launched McCrispy Strips, its latest run at classic chicken fingers.
McDonald's has had similar offerings in the past, including Chicken Selects and its successor, Buttermilk Crispy Tenders, along with a variety of chicken sandwiches.
In March, Wendy's also announced plans to bring more chicken to its menu 'to provide a modern, craveable options for our customers.'
Popeyes chicken wraps are available to order in-store, on the Popeyes app and online for a limited time, though the fast-food chain didn't say for how long.
