Focus Forward returns to Morgantown for 7th annual conference
MORGANTOWN, (WBOY) — The annual Focus Forward conference, a collaboration between the Claude Worthington Benedum Foundation and WVPEC, was held at the Marriott Hotel in Morgantown on Tuesday.
This year's theme was 'longevity' and how West Virginia can achieve it, primarily regarding health. The free event welcomed all walks of life, including educators, legislators, business leaders and community members.
More than 25 speakers were featured at the event, including Senator Shelley Moore Capito, WVU president Gordon E. Gee and Pittsburgh Steelers Sport Science Coordinator Roderick Moore.

12 News spoke with Jen Giovannitti, President of Claude Worthington Benedum Foundation, on the conference's joint efforts throughout the state.
'The public education collaborative is focused on education, and we know education is one of the key factors for productivity and longevity and resiliency and all of the things we want to see in the state,' Giovannitti said. 'We also show the data because there's very easy and even cost-free ways people can have longer, healthier lives.'
