Why Cardiff is among the friendliest cities in the UK
A recent survey of more than 6,000 UK adults, conducted by Aviva, found that community and "the people that live near me" are some of the most important factors when it comes to the best place to live.
Around 74% of people in the UK, based on the survey, think their communities are friendly, while a similar number (73%) trust their neighbours.
While 74% of people nationwide think it is important to be part of a community, with four in five (77%) saying their local community is a "good place to live".

With all this in mind, the experts at Aviva have come up with a list of the friendliest cities in the UK.
Chief Sustainability Officer at Aviva, Claudine Blamey, said: 'Like all countries, the UK faces challenges, but we also have great opportunities and strengths, particularly in local communities, as this research shows.
"This research shows just how deeply people value feeling part of a strong, connected local community.
"Across the UK, from north to south and east to west, it's heartwarming to hear people feel they are part of friendly communities and trust their neighbours – and that being part of a community is having a positive impact on their wellbeing."

Residents and visitors agree Cardiff is "one of the best cities in the world"
Residents have supported Aviva's claims that Cardiff is among the UK's friendliest cities, taking to the Reddit group r/Cardiff to reveal just how much they love the Welsh capital.
One person, replying to a post on Reddit labelling Cardiff as "one of the best cities in the world", said: "Nice to see some positivity! I was raised in the countryside and everyone thought I was crazy for moving to Cardiff.
"Best decision I ever made. Beautiful parks, beautiful bay, friendly people and crazy characters, access to gorgeous nature, and relatively affordable. And I love watching it grow.
"Nowhere else I'd rather be."
