Clingstones to celebrate Army's 250th birthday with discounted tickets, military displays
COLUMBUS, Ga. () — The U.S. Army is marking a significant milestone this month — the 250th anniversary of the establishment of their service. Fort Benning is celebrating the occasion with a week full of events, including a military appreciation night with the Columbus Clingstones.
On June 12, the Clingstones will play the Knoxville Smokies and will host their appreciation night with a scheduled ceremonial first pitch by the Maneuver Center of Excellence and Fort Benning Commanding General Maj. Gen. Colin P. Tuley, a Blackhawk helicopter flyover, military vehicle displays, an Army 250 Commemoration video, and Soldier demonstration squad. Tickets are $4 for Active Duty and Retirees.
Fort Benning will also celebrate the week with a 5k through Uptown Columbus, a golf tournament at the Ft. Benning Golf Course, a 'Night at the Museum' at the National Infantry Museum and a formal military ball.
