Popular fast food outlet applies to stay open until 3am
A fast food restaurant is applying to stay open until the early hours.
KFC in Green Park Road is hoping to feed fried chicken beyond 11pm.
In a licensing application submitted to Southampton City Council, the chain outlines plans to extend the 11pm opening at the Millbrook branch.
The application, submitted on June 4, is requesting permission for KFC to remain open until 2am from Sunday to Thursday, and until 3am on Friday and Saturday.
These extended hours would apply only to drive-thru and delivery services.
There would be no public access to the restaurant itself during the extended hours.
Cllr Lee Whitbread, who represents Redbridge, shared the news on social media.

He said: 'As one of your local Councillors for the Millbrook, Maybush and Redbridge area, I want to make residents aware of a recent licensing application submitted by the KFC restaurant located near the Millbrook Roundabout.
'If you have views, questions, or concerns—whether in support or opposition, now is the time to make your voice heard.
'Please feel free to share your thoughts with me directly so I can ensure your voice is included in any discussions. I'm particularly keen to hear from residents who live nearby.'
The deadline for comments is July 2 when the consultation period ends.
