Coachella legal threats force Welsh tribute act festival to change its name
A festival organised by Steps star Ian 'H' Watkins has been forced to change its name by Coachella. The Cowchella event had been set to go ahead in August in the in Cowbridge in the Vale of Glamorgan, Wales. Hosted by Watkins, actress Claire Sweeney and BBC Radio 2 radio presenter Owain Wyn Evans, Cowchella was billed as a 'live music celebration for every generation', with tributes to Taylor Swift, Kylie Minogue and Westlife, among many others. But this week the organisers logged into their social media accounts and 'everything was gone'. They were then alerted by their ticketing provider – Eventbrite – that the US-based Coachella Music Festival had submitted a complaint. 'Now let's be clear – we totally understand, and we've fully complied. The original name was a cheeky nod to Cowbridge. Honestly we're a bit shook they even know who we were!' the Welsh event's organisers posted on social media. They then explained the event had been renamed Moo-La-La Festival and would be 'the same line-up but with a fab new name'. However, after losing all of their previous social media accounts, organisers asked people to help spread the word again, adding original tickets would still be valid. Speaking about the action taken by the massive American music festival, Ian said he was actually flattered. 'I'm taking it as a massive compliment that they feel like that our little festival is a little bit of a threat to their ginormous, juggernaut of a machine,' he said. 'It's a little bit mind-blowing… what we're doing is very, very different to what they do. 'We don't have Beyonce performing. We have a Steps tribute act… and also, they don't have myself, Claire Sweeney and Owain Wyn Evans, hosting, which in my book, is much better than Beyonce.' Ian also said he was happy the small Welsh festival is a 'talking point' and people 'love that Coachella has put Cowbridge on the map'. He added: 'Luckily it wasn't like, the week before because that would be the disaster.' However, he did say thousands of pounds spent on marketing, posters and banners would be a 'financial impact that we have to absorb'. 'We've spent a lot of money on marketing and flyers and posters and banners that are all visible around the town. 'So yes, those will have to go in the bin… but let's just do that, rather than have any more people knocking on our door.' Promoting his event, Ian said it was designed to 'make it accessible' for families who can't afford to attend music events in Cardiff or London. More Trending Aside from the name change, the festival will be going ahead as planned on Saturday, August 2 at Bear Field. Born in Llwynypia, Mid Glamorgan, Wales, Ian joined Steps when it formed in 1997. The band went on to achieve two number-one albums in the UK, 14 consecutive UK top-5 singles and sold over 22 million records worldwide. In 2023, Ian was elected as an Independent town councillor in Cowbridge and also founded Cowbridge Pride. Metro has contacted Coachella for comment. Got a story? Inside Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz' relationship timeline amid ongoing family feud
Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz's relationship has been branded as "unhealthy" amid fears that the US actress, who tied the knot with the eldest Beckham son in 2022, is "isolating" him from his family. Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz have been no strangers to the headlines as of late due to their apparent fall out with the rest of the Beckham clan. Since Nicola's first arrival on the scene, there have been numerous rumours of rifts between her and her mother-in-law Victoria Beckham over trivial disputes such as wedding dresses - but there was never any signs of Brooklyn being involved until now. The pair are said to be embroiled in a tense family feud with Brooklyn's family after they failed to attend David's 50th birthday celebrations earlier this month. Brooklyn, who is David and Victoria's eldest son, appears to be putting some distance between himself and his usually tight-knit family as he has failed to publicly acknowledge either of his parents on social media during their birthdays this year. However, his latest Instagram post, dedicated to Nicola, made his stance very clear on whose side he would be picking when it came to his wife or the Beckhams. Sharing a video of him driving a motorbike with the American actress on the back, he wrote: "My whole world x I will love you forever x I always choose you baby x you're the most amazing person i know xx me and you forever baby." It comes amid fears that Brooklyn's relationship with Nicola is "unhealthy" and that she is "isolating" him from his family. Brooklyn's infatuation with the Bates Motel star is clear in his 70 tattoos he has dedicated to her on his body, which sources say that close friends of the Beckhams are somewhat alarmed by. The 26-year-old, whose been branded as Nicola's "puppet" also appeared to fall hard and fast for Nicola, 30, having moved very fast in their relationship by popping the question to her within just nine months of dating. Brooklyn and Nicola's relationship dates back to 2019 when they are said to have hit it off at Leonardo's DiCaprio's Halloween party. However, the pair first met a few years before hand at the Coachella Music Festival in 2019, where they have were reportedly introduced by Nicola's brother, Diesel, with the pair initially not clicking. Fast forward just three years after their first meeting, the aspiring chef and American actress announced their plans to get married and they officially tied the knot in 2022. Here we take a closer look at their relationship timeline... Beginning of relationship Brooklyn and Nicola first started dating in October 2019, sparking romance rumours after they were spotted out for dinner following a Halloween party hosted by Leonardo DiCaprio. The pair didn't go "Instagram official" until January 2020 but Beckham later confirmed their anniversary date when he celebrated one year of their relationship together on October 29 2020. Instagram Official Peltz hard-launched her relationship with Brooklyn on Instagram in a steamy mirror selfie. The couple are known for their PDA-filled snaps and the one she posted on January 2 2020 kicked off this trend. Brooklyn also posted a series of casual pictures to his Instagram to confirm their relationship. The first snap was a solo photo of Nicola, the second was of him in bed and the third showed the pair sitting beside one another. Public debut After confirming their relationship online, Brooklyn and Nicola made their first public appearance as a couple at the Saint Laurent show during Paris Fashion Week on February 25 2020. They wore matching black outfits and lovingly gazed into each other's eyes for the camera. Engagement Only after about six months of announcing their relationship, the pair were officially engaged in July 2020. They shared their big news on Instagram on July 11 with a sweet snap of them embracing one another in a field, although Brooklyn revealed he had popped the question about two weeks before hand. He wrote: "Two weeks ago I asked my soulmate to marry me and she said yes. I am the luckiest man in the world. I promise to be the best husband and the best daddy one day. I love you baby xx." Peltz shared her own message: "You've made me the luckiest girl in the world. I can't wait to spend the rest of my life by your side. your love is the most precious gift. I love you so so much baby and thank you harper for this pic." Wedding day Two years after confirming their relationship, Beckham and Peltz officially tied the knot on April 9, 2022. Their big day was an elegant black tie event which was held on the Peltz's family estate in Palm Beach, Florida. The entire Beckham clan were in attendance, as well as Nicola's family, which includes her businessman father Nelson Peltz, model mother Claudia Heffner and her seven siblings, including professional hockey player Brad Peltz and actor Will Peltz. Other famous family friends also made an appearance including Serena and Venus Williams, Jordana Brewster, Gordon Ramsay and Eva Longoria. By this point, rumours were already rife that Nicola and her mother in-law were not getting along after the actress didn't wear a Victoria Beckham designed wedding gown on her big day. Nicola addresses Victoria 'feud' On their big day, Nicola opted to wear a custom Valentino Haute Couture instead of a dress created by Victoria Beckham. This move sparked widespread speculation that Peltz and the Spice Girl star were at odds. However, in an interview with Variety, Nicola revealed why she made that decision, shutting down any rumours of animosity between the two. She said: "I was going to [wear Victoria Beckham] and I really wanted to, and then a few months down the line, she realized that her atelier couldn't do it, so then I had to pick another dress. She didn't say you can't wear it; I didn't say I didn't want to wear it. That's where it started, and then they ran with that." Brooklyn also shut down any bad feelings between his wife and mother, saying: "I've learned they're always going to try to write stuff like that. They're always going to try and put people down. But everyone gets along, which is good." Marriage tattoos Brooklyn's body art collection in honour of Nicola started not long after they tied the knot with the 26-year-old getting the word "married" tattooed on the left side of his hand. He shared the new ink with fans, writing: "Surprised my baby." This was the second time that the eldest Beckham son had honoured his new marriage commitment, having previously tattooed his wedding vows on his arm. Nicola has also gotten some romantic ink, getting a "Brooklyn" tattoo on her upper back. Brooklyn talks kids In November 2022, Brooklyn spoke to PEOPLE about newlywed life as he discussed the idea of expanding his family. He said: "I could have had kids yesterday. Obviously it's my wife's body, but I've always wanted to have a bunch of kids around. That's something I really want to do. "And my dad was young when he had me. He was 23. And I'm 23 now. I've always wanted to be a young dad." Nicola's 30th celebrations Nicola Peltz celebrated her milestone 30th birthday on January 9 this year with Brooklyn taking to Instagram to share a sweet post about his wife. He wrote: " You make me smile and laugh and you are the most amazing and most gorgeous person I know. I just love the way you are. You are perfect in every way." However, Nicola was not the only one to celebrate a big birthday this year as Brooklyn's father, David, turned 50 in May. Unlike his post for Nicola, Brooklyn failed to publicly acknowledge his dad's big day and also snubbed his birthday celebrations.

Resist calls to ban Kneecap from TRNSMT, says Glasgow councillor
One of the members attracted condemnation recently for a remark made in 2023 when he said: 'The only good Tory is a dead Tory. Kill your local MP.' It brought condemnation from Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Tory leader Kemi Badenoch and First Minister John Swinney, who said the band 'crossed a line' and should be removed from the TRNSMT lineup. Councillor Molyneux has brought a motion to Glasgow City Council which will be debated next week. He said other acts will have views on other subjects or displayed behaviour that some people don't agree with but have not been met with the same condemnation. The motion continued: 'Some Glaswegians will choose not to support an act with views that Kneecap hold, just as others will not support acts which support violence within their music or who have convictions for violence, specifically domestic violence. 'Such acts are scheduled to play in Glasgow this summer and have received no similar condemnation." Chris Brown, who has a conviction for violence when he was given five years probation and a community service order for an assault on his then girlfriend Rihanna in 2009, is to play Hampden in July. (Image: Chris Brown) The rapper 50 Cent, who has admitted his lyrics are misogynist, and who raps about gun violence, is also on the TRNSMT bill. In the motion, he also backs the right of people to protest and wants the policing policy in the city reviewed. He said: 'The rights of citizens to lawful protest as a vital part of our democracy and urged the council to 'call on the UK Government to repeal the Conservative's draconian anti-protest legislation'. Ha wants the council to ask the Safe Glasgow partnership to 'urgently undertake a review of the policing of protest in Glasgow' and for it to include taking evidence from those involved in protests. The councillor recalls a previous motion from March where the council, 'expressed solidarity with the people of Palestine, reaffirmed its calls for peace in the region'. He expressed 'deep disappointment at the failure to, so far, secure a lasting ceasefire' and condemned 'the Israeli government's ongoing blockade of Gaza and its resumption of air strikes' which he said has continued the killing of innocent Palestinians. He also called on Glasgow's Pride to: 'Establish ethical partnerships and sponsors which adhere to the Palestinian led Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) guidelines and the Fossil Free Pride pledge, committing to social and environmental justice'. The motion will be debated at the full council meeting in the City Chambers next Thursday.
