Connectivity WiFi, voice control A 1.5 ton AC is ideal for rooms between 111 and 150 sq. ft., offering efficient cooling without overloading your electricity bill. Over a few years, the energy savings can offset the initial price difference, making them a smart choice for frequent use. Top brands like LG, Voltas, Daikin, Carrier, Lloyd, and Hitachi consistently offer reliable 1.5 ton ACs with good after-sales support. Comparing features, warranty, and price across these brands helps you find the best value for your budget. Look for inverter technology for efficient cooling, copper condenser coils for durability, multi-stage filters for clean air, and convertible modes for flexibility. Features like turbo cooling, Wi-Fi control, and high ambient cooling (up to 52°C) are especially useful in Indian conditions. Match the AC's capacity (1.5 ton) to your room size - ideal for spaces around 111–150 sq. ft. Prioritise a high energy rating (4 or 5 star) for lower electricity bills and better efficiency. Opt for inverter technology for quieter operation and consistent cooling. Choose copper condenser coils for durability and easier maintenance. Look for advanced air filtration (PM 2.5/anti-viral filters) for healthier indoor air. Compare smart features and after-sales support across top brands before deciding. Your dream blowout just got cheaper, The Dyson Airwrap Origin Multi-Styler & Dryer is $110 off for a limited time, and beauty lovers across Australia are scrambling to get their hands on it. The cult-favourite hair tool, usually priced at $709, is now available for just $599 on Amazon Australia, that's a huge 16 per cent saving. But like all good things, this deal won't last forever, and with 100 sold in the past month alone, it's clear shoppers aren't hesitating. If you've been lusting after silky, voluminous hair without the heat damage, the Dyson Airwrap Origin Multi-Styler might be your new best friend. The re-engineered version of the Airwrap features enhanced Coanda airflow technology, a clever bit of science that uses air to curl and smooth hair without extreme heat. Instead of frying your strands into submission, the Dyson Airwrap uses intelligent heat control that measures airflow temperature over 40 times per second, keeping things below 150°C to help maintain hair health and shine. That means bouncy, glossy blowouts with less risk of breakage or dryness and zero need to master the round-brush technique. With multiple attachments designed to work across all hair types, lengths and styles, the Airwrap is truly a do-it-all tool. Whether you're after beachy waves, a sleek '90s blowout or a polished ponytail, this device delivers. Plus, it includes three airflow speeds, three precise heat settings and a cool shot function to set your style, all powered by the Dyson digital V9 motor spinning at a jaw-dropping 110,000 rpm. But don't just take our word for it, the reviews speak for themselves. One happy customer wrote: 'I've been styling my long hair for 40 years and never thought I'd find a tool that could beat my trusty blow dryer and round brush. I was wrong. This is lighter, easier and gives salon results every time.' Another buyer picked one up as a gift and said, 'She's very happy with it.' And if you're still unsure, TikTok is absolutely obsessed with comments like 'I'm truly in love' echoing across beauty feeds. Don't miss your chance to snag this limited-time deal and join the Airwrap fan club.

The best curling irons for bouncy, full hair, tested and reviewed

The best curling irons we tested Best curling iron: T3 SinglePass Curling Iron Best budget curling iron: Conair Double Ceramic 1-Inch Curling Iron Best interchangeable curling iron: Conair Style Chemistry Starter Kit Best automatic hair curler: Dyson Airwrap i.d. Straight and Wavy As a beauty editor with stick-straight hair, I've been on a life-long quest to find the best curling iron. For me, that means a hair tool that is easy to use, doesn't damage my locks and actually holds a curl. That last point is a big factor, as a hint of humidity immediately makes my hair go limp — and investing in a tool that doesn't give lasting results is essentially a waste of time and money. To help you avoid that, I've set out on a mission for bigger, bouncier hair and tested a dozen curling irons to find the best ones. I've taken into account how the tools may work with different hair types, consulted a professional hairstylist and included special models like interchangeable stylers in my testing. Here's what I found. T3 SinglePass Curl X 1.25-Inch Extra-Long Barrel Curling Iron This hairstylist-approved tool creates big, beautiful curls every time. With a 6.5-inch barrel and nine temperature settings, it feels extra smooth to work with. Conair Double Ceramic 1-Inch Curling Iron This under-$20 curling iron has all of the basics and some. With 30 temperature settings, plus Turbo Boost, it's a great affordable option for most hair types. It's no wonder why it's Amazon's #1 bestseller in the hair curling irons category. Conair Style Chemistry Starter Kit To maximize your at-home styling kit, an interchangeable curling iron is a good way to save some money and space. Conair's Style Chemistry Starter Kit sets you up with the essentials — a 1-inch standard curling iron and handle — and you can purchase additional styling attachments, like a bubble wand or hair waver, starting at just $15. Dyson Airwrap i.d. Straight and Wavy With two curling attachments, the viral Dyson Airwrap i.d. uses Coanda technology to automatically wrap hair around the barrels and create voluminous curls. While pricey, you're essentially getting five hair tools in one. T3's SinglePass Curl X curling iron not only looks stylish, but it performs incredibly well too. The sleek tool has nine temperature settings, ranging from 260 to 410 F, which are indicated by lights on the handle. You control the temperature settings and turn on the device by twisting the dial at the bottom of the handle. I liked that this design prevented accidentally changing the heat setting while curling your hair. However, I didn't love that the exact temperatures aren't noted on the styler itself, although they are included in the user manual. The curling iron also has a ventilated cool tip that actually stays cool enough that I wasn't scared about getting the end of the styler close to my scalp. A post shared by CNN Underscored (@cnnunderscored) My hair moved effortlessly through the glossy ceramic barrel and clamp and there was plenty of room on the barrel to twist the full length of my 2-foot-long hair. At 6.5 inches, it was among the longest curling irons I tested and is preferred for hair as long as mine. The length gave me more control over my style and resulted in even, consistent curls that stayed all day long. I also appreciate the sleek white barrel (although the tool comes in blush and graphite too), which means all hair colors will easily show up against it. Because I have dark hair, I found working with dark barreled curling irons more tedious. There's no question this is a quality tool, and pros love it too. Rogério Cavalcante, hairstylist, colorist and owner of the Second Floor Salon in New York City, recommends it for at-home use. 'Because it has nine different temperature settings, I know my clients will find one that works for them, and the clamp and barrel are super smooth.' Other notable specs include the styler's 8-foot cord, 1-hour auto shutoff, universal voltage and a two-year limited warranty. The Conair Double Ceramic Curling Iron was the cheapest styling tool I tried and it outperformed several of the more expensive curlers in the testing pool. It created lasting curls and was straightforward to use. It has a dial to choose from 30 temperature levels, but similar to the T3, the temperatures are not noted on the curling iron itself, and, unfortunately, even within Conair's manual, you won't find the exact scale. Instead, it says that the temperatures are grouped by low (1-5), medium (6-10), medium/high (11-15), high (16-20) and maximum (21-30). The higher the heat, the more effective it will be for thicker and/or coarser hair. The curling iron also has a Turbo Boost setting that increases the temperature by 27 degrees. The box says it can reach 400 degrees with Turbo Boost, but it also says it heats up to 356 without Turbo Boost … so the math isn't quite adding up. Either way, I found the tool heated up quite fast and got plenty hot enough to handle my thick hair. I didn't even have to use the Turbo Boost when I set it to level 25. This curling iron was among the lightest tools I tested, so my arms never fatigued while styling. Plus, it's a reasonable size to pack for travel and it has dual voltage. One drawback is that it has a 5-foot cord, which felt restrictive at times. With a two-year limited warranty and 1-hour auto shutoff, this is a great option for someone just learning to curl their hair and doesn't want to dive into a triple-digit purchase — or any other budget-conscious shopper too. You can get a hold of the mechanics of how to curl using a traditional curling iron and figure out what works best for your hair. Interchangeable curling irons are a growing category, and I loved this affordable pick. A step up from the Double Ceramic Curling Iron, Conair's Style Chemistry set gives you more control when styling your hair. The Power Handle features a digital temperature display with six heat settings, from 230 to 400 F, across each attachment. Like the Double Ceramic Curling Iron, it starts to heat up instantly. At 5.5 inches, the curling iron attachment is slightly longer than the Double Ceramic Curling Iron's 4.75 inches, which was better for my long hair. Prev Next Perhaps I buried the lede with this one, but the Style Chemistry curling iron gave me the longest-lasting curls of any tool I tested. The morning I first tested it, I used it on the second-highest heat, 375 F, and my curls, though a bit relaxed, lasted well into the following day. Even my partner complimented how good my hair looked on day two. Of course, the other winning factor is that you can choose from six additional attachments to style your hair straight, wavy or curly. I like the space- and money-saving aspect since the handle isn't that bulky and you'd save a lot of dollars opting for a $15 attachment rather than another tool that's at least twice that. The detachable barrels also came in handy while traveling, giving me more flexibility in how the curling iron fit into my carry-on-sized suitcase for a weekend away. I've seen the Dyson Airwrap top other outlets' lists of the best curling irons, but it's a category-defying tool and using it involves too many anomalies to properly compare it to other curling irons. It's technically a wet-to-dry multi-styler, so it blow-dries, smoothes and curls with its suite of attachments. That said, it still gets top billing when measured against other tools I'm calling 'automatic curling irons.' This category of hair stylers assists the user by automatically wrapping the hair around the barrel of the curler. The Dyson Airwrap did this first with its Coanda technology, and it's remained the best option. With the newest generation, the Dyson Airwrap i.d., you can use the Dyson app to create a customized 'i.d. curl' profile, which adjusts the timing of your styling session. Most of the time, I don't like when my beauty tools want to connect to my phone, but I actually find this setting useful and you only need the app for this initial setup or to adjust the i.d. curl settings. With i.d. curl, it puts me on autopilot. I just grab a section of hair and hit the i.d. button on the Airwrap. This launches a timed wrapping, styling and cold shot cycle, and the tool turns down the airflow when it's time to move to the next section of hair. If you want to learn more about the Airwrap's other styling features, take a look at this review. To touch on some of the anomalies of the tool, it's important to note that your hair has to be damp, but not too wet, for the styling to last. Since I have thick hair, I usually blow-dry my hair to 85% dry before reaching for the curling attachments. You're also limited in the type of curls you can create with the Airwrap since it 'grabs' the hair for you. My biggest advice for consistent curls with the Airwrap is to keep the sections of hair around the same size. According to Cavalcante, air wrap stylers are the least heat-damaging since they don't involve putting your hair in direct contact with hot metal, but they're not a fit for everyone. ' I think they mostly work for people with thin or straight hair,' he says. 'For people with curly hair, they'd likely need to straighten their hair first, and I'm not sure air wraps are strong enough to give them long-lasting curls.' To address this concern, Dyson makes the Airwrap i.d. Curly+Coily specifically geared towards textured hair types. It comes with one tapered curling barrel. After researching what curling irons the pros use, looking at the most popular options from retailers and seeing what products are being talked about the most, I decided on this list of hair tools. I tested each curler multiple times over several weeks, curling all of my hair, and sometimes putting two comparable tools head-to-head, curling half of my hair with one tool and half with another. To remain consistent, I used the same styling products each time I curled my hair. Because I knew I'd regularly expose my hair to high heat, I prepped my hair with the new Pureology Strength Cure Dream Healer Serum before blow drying to provide heat protection and help reduce damage. (This was the most crucial of all the styling products I used. Despite washing, blow drying and curling my hair multiple days in a row, my hair never lost its softness or looked fried.) Once my hair was dry, I followed with Dry Bar's Hot Toddy Heat Protectant Mist before curling each section. Because I have thick hair and a lot of it, I stuck to the medium-high heat settings for each curling iron I tested. The exact temperature varied across the different tools but was generally around 390 F. Then, to set and hold the curls, I spritzed the Color Wow Cult Favorite Firm + Flexible Hairspray. While curling my hair and once it was styled, I took note of the following criteria: Ease of use: While curling my hair, I assessed how easy it was to maneuver and hold the tool, whether my hair got caught around or fell out of the clamp and whether the tool required any special techniques to use. Heat settings: I took into account whether the curling irons had multiple heat settings, which is optimal for styling control and flexibility with different hair types, whether these settings were clearly defined with temperatures or a general scale (for example, the Dyson AirWrap i.d. only has an indicator for high, medium and low) and what the highest heat setting was for each. Barrel design and material: The barrel of the curling iron defines how quickly the tool can heat up, how hot the tool can get and the style and shape of the curls, so I considered how the barrel of the respective curling irons performed in these areas. Longevity of style: While there are a lot of variables that go into how long curls will last — even the weather can cause curls to go limp just hours after styling — I documented my curls initially after styling, three hours after styling and at the end of the day to see how well they held. Safety features: I checked whether the tools had a stand that allowed them to be placed on the counter without the hot barrel touching the surface. Points were also awarded to curling irons with an automatic shutoff feature. Travel-friendliness: While I did not travel during my testing, I considered how easy it would be to pack each hair tool and whether they were equipped with universal voltage. As I've found during testing, there isn't a one-size-fits-all approach to curling irons. You can have an amazing, award-winning tool, but it might not have the right heat settings or the barrel might not be the right size for your hair type. Taking these factors into account will help your search. As a baseline, I recommend a curling iron with at least a 5-inch barrel, multiple temperature settings and auto-shutoff. Bio Ionic Long Barrel Styler Pro Curling Iron 1-Inch It was a close call between the T3 SinglePass Curl X and this long barrel curling iron from Bio Ionic. This one is slightly lighter and has an ergonomic handle that makes for a comfortable styling process. The Bio Ionic Long Barrel Styler Pro Curling Iron was my second favorite traditional curling iron to use. It made the styling process easy and comfortable. Even though it matched the T3 in length, it is lighter at 10 ounces. I especially liked the soft-touch handle that wasn't as slippery as the T3, and it also has a notch that gives the fingers a comfortable place to rest while holding the curler in place. With five heat settings, from 250 F to 430 F, you can find what works best for your hair type. It's equipped with a temperature lock, which was helpful because I accidentally hit the buttons while styling my hair a few times. As for the tech behind the tool, this curling iron is made with nanoionic mineral technology and far infrared technology. According to the brand, these essentially help speed up styling, regulate consistent heat and make the tool gentler on the hair than other hot tools. Ghd Soft Curl 1.25-Inch Curling Iron While this felt like a luxury product and I liked that it's a damage-conscious choice with a "safer-for-hair temperature of 365 F", the short barrel and single temperature option ultimately added time to my styling routine. Prev Next I've tried other Ghd styling tools and loved them, but the Soft Curl Curling Iron didn't seem like a great match for my hair. First, it has the shortest barrel of any of the other curling irons I tried at 4.5 inches, and it doesn't come in an extended-length version for longer hair. This posed the first challenge for my 2-foot-long hair, which overlapped a lot as I twisted it around the curling iron. My hair also tended to get caught around the clamp as I twisted it. Then, there's the single 365 F temperature setting. According to the brand, this is the optimal temperature to set curls without causing heat damage. Because this erred on the lower end of my preferred heat settings for my hair type, I found I had to hold my hair in the curler for at least 10 seconds to get curls that lasted. I imagine the process would take even longer for thicker or coarser hair. Because I had to adjust my technique for the shorter barrel and lower temp, it took a bit longer to curl all my hair and I didn't get consistent curls. However, once I figured out how to work around the challenges, curl retention was above average with this tool. This curling iron would be much more compatible with thinner, shorter hair so I'm not writing it off completely. It also got points for its 30-minute automatic shutoff and two-year warranty. Sutra 5-Piece Interchangeable Curler Set This interchangeable set includes three wand curlers and two barrels with a clamp, ranging in size for different curl and wave effects. I liked the quick-switch attachments, which were less fussy than Conair's Style Chemistry twist-to-lock mechanism, and that it came with a storage case to stay organized. Considering you get five curlers in one, I think $150 is reasonable for this Sutra set, although I wish it had the same customization as Conair's Style Chemistry. With this one, you get a variety of curlers ranging from 0.75 to 1.5 inches. For my personal use, five attachments seemed excessive — I could only see myself consistently using the two attachments I tested, the 1-inch wand and the 1.25-inch curling iron with a clamp. That said, it could be useful if you're in a household where the tool is shared with different hair types. Also, while I liked that the attachments lock automatically when inserted into the base (there is a button to release the attachments when you want to switch them), the mechanism was a bit finicky and I had to use a lot of force to insert them. As far as function goes, I didn't have any complaints with Sutra's curling capabilities. The wand and standard curler I tested were straightforward to use and delivered fine results. The curling iron has five heat settings, ranging from 280 F to 430 F, auto shutoff and dual voltage. The set also comes with a lifetime warranty for design or manufacturing defects. BaBylissPro Nano Titanium 1.25-Inch Extended Barrel Curling Iron This is a sleek tool for a fair price, but the clamp's design has flaws. I struggled to get lasting curls with this tool, even after multiple tests on different heat settings. It may be a more successful option for finer hair types. This curling iron is made with a nano titanium barrel, meaning it heats to 430 F at its maximum temperature. It's equipped with five temperature settings in total but doesn't have automatic shutoff. Because it has an extended barrel, just like the T3, it's great for long hair like mine and I never struggled with wrapping my hair around the length of the barrel. It also features dual voltage and comes with a two-year warranty. The biggest challenge with this curling iron came from its clamp. The lever extends 1.5 inches from the handle and feels like a bit of a reach. Interestingly, several of the other curling irons I tested also have a 1.5-inch gap but the BaByliss felt like more of a strain on my hands (due to a stiffer spring on the lever, I think). With the BaByliss, I fumbled when trying to release my curls from the iron multiple times. I also found that if I clamped the ends of my hair too far down on the barrel (closer to the handle), it wasn't as secure and my hair had a tendency to slip out. And while I liked the bigger, looser curls it created, my hair wouldn't hang onto the style from this curling iron no matter how high I cranked up the heat or how long I held my hair on the curler. Remington Shine Therapy Argan Oil & Keratin Infused 0.5 - 1-Inch Tapered Curling Wand If you prefer a curling wand, you can't go wrong with Remington's tool. It's an affordable product that provides consistent curls that last all day, and it has all of the basic features you'd expect from a hair curler, like multiple heat settings, temperature lock and automatic shutoff. Not gonna lie, testing this curling wand was super nostalgic — I had the iconic pink Remington Pro curling wand in high school, so using this type of curler reawakened my muscle memory. Back then, though, the wand left my hair feeling and smelling singed every time I used it. This time, I wanted to try the brand's Shine Therapy curling wand, which utilizes a ceramic barrel infused with argan oil and keratin designed to boost shine. While the addition of those hair care ingredients didn't make a difference to my hairstyling, the tool is in the same price range as the brand's other wand anyway and I thought it performed just as great — minus the heat damage, of course. The Shine Therapy curling wand was one of the quickest in terms of how quickly it got to the set temperature. It has a digital temperature display and 10 heat settings ranging from 250 F to 410 F, plus a temperature lock feature. It comes with one glove to protect the hand you use near the barrel, but I've always found it easier to control my hair and gauge how close my hand is to the hot tool without it. I tested the 0.5- to 1-inch size, but it also comes in a 1- to 1.5-inch tapered wand and a straight 1-inch barrel. The Remington Shine Therapy wand was also one of the lightest tools I tested, which is important because using a curling wand is more of an arm workout than a standard curling iron and you'll need both hands to wrap and hold your hair around the wand. In terms of results, I liked that I could create springy curls or looser ribbons and waves, depending on how I wrapped the hair. One downside is that it's only compatible with 120 V outlets, but it does have a three-year limited warranty. Beachwaver B1 Rotating Curling Iron 1-Inch As far as upgraded hair curlers go, Beachwaver's rotating curling iron falls somewhere between the convenience of the Dyson Airwrap and the control of a traditional curling iron. While it was fun to use, I got better results with the standard options I tested. The viral Beachwaver B1 Rotating Curling Iron looks like a regular curling iron but with an extra short clamp. This is designed so it simply holds the ends of your hair in place while the ceramic barrel of the curling iron rotates and wraps your hair around it. The tool has left and right arrow buttons so you can choose whether your hair curls towards or away from your face. It also has three heat settings to choose from. I tried it at medium heat (350 F) the first time I used the curling iron but had to crank it to high (410 F) the next time because the curls from my first test didn't hold for a whole day. Like a traditional curling iron, I felt I needed to build confidence when using the Beachwaver. It only rotates as long as you press the button, and getting the positioning of how my hair wrapped around the barrel took some practice. Quality-wise, I felt that the Beachwaver was more on par with Conair's budget options. It would've scored higher if it was just $30 cheaper. While it certainly made the mechanics of curling my hair easier, I felt less control over the type of curls I was creating and, ultimately, they looked a bit messy and didn't last as long as I had hoped. Also, the safety tip still got pretty hot, so I didn't set this one down on my counter without a heat-proof pad underneath. As for other features, it has universal voltage, a 30-minute automatic shutoff and an 8-foot swivel cord. Chi Spin N Curl Ceramic Rotating Hair Curler This user-friendly curling iron does all the work for you, plus the guarded barrel means you're far less likely to burn yourself while curling your hair. Despite being one of the easiest and safest tools I tested, I had inconsistent results with this hair curler so I wouldn't recommend it unless you're a novice. Chi's unique torch-shaped curling iron features a chamber that houses a 1-inch ceramic barrel. Even though it looks like a bulkier tool, it weighs under 2 pounds and is comfortable to hold. It has a rotating mechanism that automatically draws your hair into the chamber and wraps it around the heated barrel, all while the outside remains safe to the touch. Two buttons on the handle control the direction the barrel rotates, and you can adjust the temperature settings and timer for how long it sets the curls. It has a max temperature of 410 F and pre-set low, medium and high settings. I preferred to adjust the heat and timer settings before I started curling because these settings are programmed to lock. Curling with the Spin N Curl really couldn't be easier. As the directions say, it works best with smaller 3/4 to 1-inch sections of hair, which you place in the slot of the barrel. Then, press one of the directional buttons and it will begin rotating and wrapping your hair around the barrel within the chamber. It stops rotating automatically once your hair is completely wrapped and will also indicate if your hair is misaligned or not wrapping properly. All you have to do is hold the curler in place until the timer beeps, indicating your hair is don and then you can move the curler away from your head and your hair will release from the chamber. With the 1-inch barrel, it creates bouncy, ringlet-like curls. Although I loved that it was a nearly automatic process, I found the curl pattern on my different sections of hair varied a lot and gave a bit of a disorganized look overall. I believe this is because I have very long hair and the barrel itself is shorter, so the way my hair wrapped around the barrel caused inconsistent heat distribution along the length of my hair. Thus, my curls didn't last until the end of the day either. It would probably work great for medium-length hair. I can also see it making a great gift for teens or anyone wary of being burned by traditional curling irons. Plus, the Spin N Curl gets points for checking off all of the basic boxes like having an automatic shutoff after one hour, dual voltage for international travel and a two-year limited warranty. The following FAQs have been answered by hairstylist Rogério Cavalcante. Which curling iron is least damaging to hair? Which curling iron is least damaging to hair? 'The least damaging option would probably be air wrap stylers since they don't press hot metal directly onto the hair,' Cavalcante says. But as we've established above, these types of hair stylers are not the best option for all hair types and you are more limited with the type of curls and styles you're able to achieve with them. When it comes to traditional curling irons, you should adjust the heat settings for your hair type to avoid excessive heat damage. 'A temperature between 350 and 375 F is generally safe for most hair types,' Cavalcante says. 'If you have thin or fine hair, go lower, and if you have thicker or coarse hair, go higher. Lower temperatures are generally safer because you can hold the heat on the hair longer to create longer-lasting curls.' What is the difference between a ceramic and titanium curling iron? What is the difference between a ceramic and titanium curling iron? 'Ceramic irons provide even heat distribution, making them a great option for most hair types,' Cavalcante says. 'Titanium irons heat up quickly and can reach higher temperatures, which is ideal for thick, coarse hair. Personally, I feel safer using ceramic because it minimizes heat damage and adds a beautiful shine to the hair.' What is the most popular size curling iron? What is the most popular size curling iron? Cavalcante says 1-inch curling irons are the most popular, however, his personal favorite (and my own preference) are 1.25-inch curling irons. Remember, the smaller the barrel, the tighter the curl. With a larger barrel of 1.25 inches or above, you'll get looser, bouncier waves.
