What's new at the Town Center at Boca Raton? Kendra Scott, Limani Grille, Vuori, more
BOCA RATON — Palm Beach County's first 105, a glitzy Peruvian restaurant and a Miami favorite, is now open at the Town Center at Boca Raton. So is piercing studio Rowan and women's retail chain Ann Taylor. They're just some of the 10 new shops and restaurants the Town Center has announced for this spring and summer. Of these, two more will be the first in the county: premium men's leather footwear label Allen Edmonds and luxury resort wear line for women ViX by Paula Hermanny. The new offerings "bolster the property's commitment to provide unmatched shopping and dining experiences" for the city's locals and tourists, a news release by Simon Property Group stated. Here's what else shoppers can expect as summer approaches. Bonpoint: Founded in Paris in 1975, this French children's clothing brand has more than 120 stores across roughly 25 countries. Its Boca Raton location will mark its third in Florida, the other two being in Palm Beach and Bal Harbour. BYLT: This first-to-market basics shop offers transitional apparel, footwear and accessories for men and women. It was founded in Southern California in 2016. Kendra Scott: The household name in fashion accessories is scheduled to open this summer. Founded in Austin, Texas, in 2002, Kendra Scott offers a collection of necklaces, earrings, rings and bracelets, as well as home goods and beauty products. Limani Grille: This Mediterranean seafood restaurant focuses on traditional Greek specialties, with its seafood flown in straight from the coastal shores. It will be first to market, located next to The Capital Grille. Vuori: Also founded in California, Vuori offers premium performance apparel inspired by what it calls the "active Coastal California lifestyle." This Couple Was Tired of the All-White Home Look. Was Wood Paneling the Right Move?
What happens when you're eager to escape conformity but don't know what you want instead? That dilemma confronted a Newport Beach, Calif., couple who raised their children in a conventional home and craved a change. Its look-alike blue-and-white decor—the Coastal California style—had dominated interior design in the area for 20 years. A by-the-numbers beach bungalow here. A same-old-same-old Cape Cod revival there. 'It's lots of raised-panel wainscoting painted white,' said the restless couple's designer Marie Turner Carson, 'with blue mainly in fabric, sometimes in tile.' 'It's a beautiful look,' conceded Carson, who runs M. Elle Design with her sister, Emily Turner Barker, in Pacific Palisades. 'It's just commonplace, and they wanted something different.'

Joan Fontaine's Former Carmel Home Hits the Market for $6 Million
Throughout her lengthy five-decade career, Golden-Age Hollywood star Joan Fontaine racked up plenty of accomplishments. The younger sister of fellow thespian Olivia de Havilland appeared in more than 45 movies, garnering three Oscar nods for 'Best Actress' in the process and winning a golden statue in 1941 for her role as the timid wife in Alfred Hitchcock's psychological thriller Suspicion. Fontaine passed away in late 2013 at age 96. The following year, her longtime Central California home perched atop the Carmel Highlands and its contents—including that Oscar—were put up for auction, with the animal lover designating that the proceeds from the sale go to the Monterey chapter of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Now the property has once again popped up for sale, asking a speck under $6 million. The listing is held by Tim Allen of the Tim Allen Properties Team at Coldwell Banker Realty.
