‘Easter Bunny' working at mall is shoved and attacked by 3 teens, FL cops say
A trio of teenage boys is accused of battering a worker wearing an Easter Bunny costume at a mall, Florida authorities said.
The Naples Police Department isn't identifying the teens because of their ages, but the group consisted of 13-year-olds and a 14-year-old, investigators said in a news release.
A spokesperson for Brookfield Properties, which owns and operates the Coastland Center shopping mall, said they were grateful the woman wasn't injured, and the teens accused of violating the mall's code of conduct have now been banned.
A 24-year-old woman working at the mall as an Easter Bunny character was walking back to the break room Sunday, April 6, when the three teen boys came up to her and started harassing her, authorities said.
'The juveniles began to physically batter the victim by pushing, shoving and pulling at her,' police wrote in the release.
Officers reported they got to the mall and interviewed another witness who confirmed what happened, and two of the teens were arrested and charged with misdemeanor battery.
One was issued a civil citation for misdemeanor battery, according to police.
The mall is working with the Naples Police Department as the agency investigates.
