Victoria Police release CCTV footage linked to fatal May hit-and-run in Melbourne's west
Victoria Police have released CCTV footage in their quest to find a driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run in Melbourne's west early last month.
A 34-year-old man was found with life-threatening injuries on the Western Freeway, in Cobblebank, about 7am on May 8, and died in hospital four days later.
Detectives now believe the man was struck by a vehicle about an hour before he was located, between 5:52am and 5:55am.
Police have released CCTV footage of seven vehicles travelling northbound on Mount Cottrell Road at the time, in the hopes they may have witnessed the incident and be able to assist in the investigation.
It is believed the vehicles may include a Ford Ranger, a Hyundai Palisade and a Mitsubishi Triton or Toyota Fortuna.
Detectives have asked anyone in the area at the time to check their dash cam footage.
Meanwhile, a 22-year-old woman is fighting for life after being struck by a car in Melbourne's inner south-east.
The pedestrian was taken to hospital after the incident on Malvern Road, in Malvern, about 6pm on Thursday.
The male driver of the vehicle stopped at the scene and assisted, with the exact circumstances of the collision still being investigated.
While police earlier said the young woman succumbed to her injuries, they have since clarified that she remains in hospital in a life-threatening condition.
