Michigan State hockey got a big time addition on Friday, bolstering their blue line and getting a player at a very coveted position, right handed defense.
Cole Ward, a Rochester Hills (MI) native, has made the move to commit to Michigan State and is expected to join the team this fall. A 2005-born defenseman, he played for the Tri-City Storm of the USHL and the Austin Bruins of the NAHL.
Ward was previously committed to Northern Michigan, but will now be heading to East Lansing instead.
A 6-foot-5, 200 pound right handed defenseman, Ward is going to be a major threat to earn minutes on the Spartans third pairing in 2025-26.
