Vernon College rodeo team shines at national rodeo event
VERNON (KFDX/KJTL) — Vernon College had three rodeo team members compete at the Collegiate National Finals Steer Roping in Clarendon, TX on May 26.
Carter Hitt landed among the top collegiate steer trippers in the nation and earned the title of Reserve National Champion.
New music festival and charity event honors late local radio host
Dawson Tullis finished third in the first round, showcasing the talent of his team.
Aaron Raulston was the third team member to compete, and a release from Vernon College said he represented them with grit and resilience despite facing tough draws.
Head rodeo coach Clayton Jackson expressed his pride in the team.
'We are beyond proud of these three young men,' Jackson said. 'Their dedication, competitive spirit, and character are a credit to our college and community.'
