Liberty-Eylau falls in state title game
ROUND ROCK, Texas (KTAL/KMSS) — The Liberty-Eylau baseball team fell in the state title game 4-3 Thursday night against Corpus Christi London.
The Leopards led 3-2 in the 5th inning but gave up a pair of runs in the top of the inning to give up the lead. Liberty-Eylau struggled at the plate, finishing the game with just two hits.
The Leopards tied the game at one when Collin Evans grounded out in the 1st inning, scoring Eli Jarvis on the fielders choice.
In the 2nd inning the Leopards would take the lead after a sacrifice fly that would score junior Maddax Moore.
The Leopards weren't able to score a run the rest of the game, falling short of back-to-back state championships. Zach Fowler's crew would go on to finish the season with a record of 36-5.
