Jharkhand Public Service Commission
(JPSC) has declared the results of the Combined Civil Services Main (Written) Competitive Examination 2023, with 864 candidates clearing the examination.
The announcement comes after a 10-month delay, triggering prior protests and hunger strikes by aspirants.
The Mains examination was conducted from June 22 to 24, 2024, for 342 vacancies across multiple administrative roles. The commission attributed the delay in result declaration to the expiration of the former JPSC chairman's tenure.
The recruitment drive aims to fill key positions, including:
Deputy Collector: 207 posts
Deputy Superintendent of Police: 35 posts
State Tax Officer: 56 posts
Labour Superintendent: 14 posts
Jail Superintendent: 2 posts
Jharkhand Education Service (Category-2): 10 posts
District Commandant: 1 post
Assistant Registrar: 8 posts
Probation Officer: 6 posts
Excise Inspector: 3 posts
The recruitment notification was published on January 27, 2024, with the Preliminary examination held on March 17, 2024.
A total of 7,011 candidates had qualified for the Mains examination.
The prolonged delay in releasing the Mains result had prompted widespread agitation by candidates, including a hunger strike outside the JPSC headquarters in Ranchi. The protest was withdrawn only after officials assured a timely result declaration.
Following the announcement of the written exam results, the commission stated that the interview schedule will be announced shortly.
