New Delhi: Comedian and winner of Comedy Khiladigalu Season 3, Rakesh Poojary, passes away after suffering a heart attack in the early hours of May 12. The actor was allegedly attending a mehendi ceremony in Nitte situated in the Karkala taluk of Udupi district when the incident occurred around 2 am, as per reports by Times of India. Hailing from Udupi, Rakesh was widely known for his humour and kindness. Actor and Comedy Khiladigalu judge Rakshita Prem took to her social media to express grief over his demise, sharing his photo, she wrote, "The ever smiling Rakesha my fav Rakesha .. the most sweetest kindest loving miss you, Magne" In a series of posts on Instagram, calling Rakesh her favourite Comedy Khiladi, she mourned, "Not able to come to terms that I will never be able to talk to Rakesha anymore .. comedy khiladigalu is a show very close to my heart, n Rakesha was one person who always stood apart from the rest.. The most beautiful person that he was ... what a talent n even off camera the most perfect guy I knew Rakesha u will always live in our hearts and everyone is gonna miss u ... ur smile ur mischief n most importantly the happiness u brought into all our lives... Thank u Rakesha." Reportedly, the actor just finished shooting for the Rishab Shetty starrer Kantara: Chapter 1 on May 11. Actor Shivraj also confirmed the heartbreaking news, he wrote, "How to rest in peace to the soul who made so many hearts laugh" On the other hand, A junior artiste linked to the upcoming Kannada film Kantara: Chapter 1, identified as MF Kapil, passed away after tragically drowning in the Souparnika River at Kollur. However later the makers of Kantara: Chapter 1 issued an official statement denying that the incident occurred during the shoot. While he was attending a friend's mehendi ceremony in Karkala in the Dakshina Kannada district, he reportedly collapsed and died on the spot, said sources. Poojary, known for his comic timing and versatile performances, had become a household name through Comedy Khiladigalu, aired on a Kannada channel. Originally from Karkala in the Udupi district of Karnataka, he was the son of Dinkar Poojary and Shambhavi. He gained popularity for his role in the Kannada television serial 'Hitler Kalyana' and also acted in several other TV serials. The news of his sudden death has shocked the Kannada television and film community, with several actors and colleagues offering their condolences. Actor Rakshitha, who served as a judge on Comedy Khiladigalu, shared an emotional message on social media: 'The ever smiling Rakesha… my fav Rakesha… the most sweetest, kindest, loving person… Namma Rakesha… will miss u magne,' she said. Besides his work on television, Poojary had a successful career in theatre and cinema. Kannada television personality and comedian Rakesh Poojary, best known for winning Comedy Khiladigalu Season 3, tragically passed away at the age of 34 in the early hours of Monday (May 12). Sources close to the family said that Poojary suffered a sudden cardiac arrest at a pre-wedding ceremony near Udupi. Poojary, who was reportedly shooting for Kantara: Chapter 1, passed away while attending the mehendi ceremony of his friend near Udipi, Karnataka. Poojary had even shared a picture from the wedding on his Instagram Stories hours before his tragic death. Reports say he was dancing at the event before he suddenly collapsed. The actor was then rushed to a hospital, but the doctors declared him dead. Fondly called Vishwaroop, Rakesh Poojary hailed from Karkala, Udippi. He was well-known in the Kannada television circuit, especially for winning the third season of the comedy reality show Comedy Khiladigalu. Poojary also appeared in several notable Kannada and Tulu films, like Itu Entha Lokavayya, Pailwan, Ammer Police, and Petkammi. Since the news of Poojar's death broke out, several actors, industry colleagues and fans have been expressing their condolences. The actor's last rites will be performed in his hometown.
