If you're looking for some top live music tonight, head along to Burroughs Sports and Social Club, Cumbernauld where nineties electronic duo Utah Saints will be headlining supported by the fantastic Colonel Mustard & The Dijon 5, and homegrown Cumbernauld talent This Questionable Life. Join Kilbryde Hospice on Friday, May 9 for a night of music, dancing and bingo fun at their ever-popular Bingo Night with a disco twist. Doors 8pm. Elsewhere, Lanark Agricultural Centre will host Scotland's newest and most exciting monthly market this weekend. The Makers & Merchants Monthly Market launch day will take place on Saturday, May 10, starting at 10am. Set in the idyllic Lanark Agricultural Market in the heart of the beautiful Clydeside, the market will take place once a month becoming the ultimate destination for foodies and craft lovers. Expect amazing food trucks, food, drink and, of course, crafts. Meanwhile, the historic Stonehouse bandstand will be filled with the sound of a range of music as it provides the spectacular stage for a community festival. Friends of Stonehouse Park and Avondale Radio are teaming up to run the Bandstand Beatz event on Saturday, May 10, showcasing a host of talented local musicians – and with organisers saying 'tickets are flying' for the free event. It takes place at the century-old bandstand in the town's Alexander Hamilton memorial park from 1pm to 7pm, during what is the park's centenary year. Organisers promise 'a fantastic line-up of local talent [on] an afternoon packed full of performances from Ewan MacFarlane, Clay Rings, Ciaran Whyte, Pilgrims Society, Mairs Family Band, Megan Black, Ellijai, Broghan, Amy Louise and Ross Smith'. Visitors are asked to try to reach the event on foot due to the limited parking for the Lawrie Street park, and can bring picnics or sample the Park Pizzas on offer. Free tickets are available at And history buffs can take a tour of one of the finest private tombs in the country at the striking historic landmark, Hamilton Mausoleum. Book a tour this Saturday, May 10 and discover how breathtaking it is, with its massive domed interior, magnificent bronze doors, marble floors, and eerily atmospheric crypt with the world-famous echo. Tours are available on the second and fourth Saturday of each month from February to November and must be booked at least two days in advance. Tickets cost £5.35 and £4.00 (concessions), available from Low Parks Museum reception and are valid for the booked date only.

Event organisers Excelsior Events state: 'Come along to visit our character meet and greets! We have the mighty ten foot tall Optimus Prime along with Pikachu, Sonic and Deadpool! 'We are also launching our new Excelsior Cosplay Championship which will be a new feature to our events with a trophy presentation for the winner. 'The event will be packed with some of our very best traders selling comic books, action figures, crafts, art, Plushies, cards, dice, mystery bags, Funkos, Lego, Anime and more. 'A fun day for all the family with plenty to see and take part in. There will also be a free retro gaming to explore the world of classic games. The event is free entry but be sure to queue early to avoid disappointment.'
