48 cadets graduate from IMA's Army Cadet College Wing in Doon

1 2 3 4 Dehradun: Forty-eight cadets of the Indian Military Academy's (IMA) Army Cadet College (ACC) Wing graduated on Friday after completing their three-year academic and military training. The graduation ceremony was held at IMA's Chetwode Hall in Dehradun where the institute's commandant, Lt Gen Nagendra Singh, awarded bachelor's degrees. He congratulated the cadets and said that qualities such as self-discipline, courage, motivation, positive attitude, and professional competence are essential to succeed as an Army officer. The degrees conferred by Delhi's Jawaharlal Nehru University were awarded to 18 cadets from the Science stream and 30 from the Humanities stream of the 125th course of the ACC Wing. The graduating cadets will join IMA as officer cadets for a one-year pre-commissioning training in July. Wing cadet Captain Praveen Kumar received the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) gold medal, while Platoon cadet Captain Amit Kuntal and Company cadet Captain Amandeep Singh were awarded the COAS silver and bronze medals respectively. Commandant's silver medals were awarded to Platoon cadet Captain Amit Kuntal for standing first in Service subjects and in the Humanities stream, and to Wing cadet Captain Praveen Kumar for topping the Science stream. Kargil Company was awarded the Commandant's Banner for emerging as the champion company based on its performance across various competitions, including academics, training, sports, and other activities.
