Youngstown to host first Community Development Day
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — The City of Youngstown will have its first-ever Community Development Day on Thursday.
It'll take place at Wean Park with some events centered around the Youngstown Foundation Amphitheater. It will begin at 11 a.m. with an opening ceremony and end at 7 p.m.
There will be 110 vendors at the event, representing various organizations that service Youngstown.
'A lot of people haven't been in the amphitheater before because they haven't been able to afford the tickets, and some people haven't been down to the Wean Park with some of the free stuff as well. So, we're opening it up,' said Wendy Robinson, the city's assistant compliance director. 'We're telling people to bring your blankets, bring your picnic baskets. Come down and have a good time, but most of all, just show up and see all that's going to take place.'
There will also be food vendors, as well as games for the kids and an adult egg.
