2nd Annual Cone Park trail festival
SIOUX CITY, IA (KCAU) — Cone Park was a major hit as the second annual Cone Park Trail Festival was held at the park's mountain bike park.
With a free admission and plenty of fun for the whole family, folks were able to enjoy cone parks more then 10 miles of natural trail surface. The event was filled with several bike vendors, live music, food trucks and plenty of activities for the little ones to enjoy. One of the new things added to this years festivities was a bike pump race, where all ages could attempt to complete the trail in the fastest time. Coordinator of the event said this is a way great to bring everyone together on a great day.
'I just love everything about parks and rec and seeing our communities come together at these different events and just seeing the happiness on their faces and the stuff that we can do to bring our community together' said Rachael Eskins the recreation coordinator for the Sioux City Parks and Recreation
One kid who had the fastest time on the bike pump trail said he's been biking for quite a while and explained why enjoys the festival.
'We came to Cone Park because it's bike fest and I actually raced and so i thought I'd have a fun time here. It helps build community and you can find new friends its really fun' said Ari Suhr who attended the festival
The event also featured free bike giveaways and biking lessons, cone park plans to do this event next year.
