Meknes – Moroccan football club Renaissance Sportive de Berkane (RSB) secured today a precious 1-0 away victory against Ivorian hosts ASEC Mimosas in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup quarter-finals. The first half at Felix Houphouët-Boigny Stadium ended in a goalless draw as both teams struggled to break through opposing defenses despite several attempts. At the beginning of the second half, Renaissance Berkane's offensive made the club close to opening the scoring. Ayoub Khairi and Youssef Mehri's efforts to reach the opponent's net were averted by the Mimosas' goalkeeper. Coach Moïne Chaâbani's squad maintained ball possession as they searched for a winning goal.
