Hawaii Softball with 2 Homeruns in Big West Opener
The Hawaii Rainbow Wahine opened up Big West Conference play against Long Beach State on Friday.
Hawaii got off to a quick start as they scored 2 runs in the first inning with help from a deep sacrifice fly and a walk with bases loaded.
In the 4th inning, Hawaii led 2-1, but in the bottom of the inning Chloe Borges added one more to their total with a solo homerun to centerfield.
In the 5th inning, Liliana Thomas hammered a 2-run homerun to centerfield to put UH 5-1.
Hawaii would score 1 more run in the 5th inning and would go on to win 6-1.
The Rainbow Wahine are now 1-0 in Conference Play and 15-9 overall. Next up is a doubleheader on Saturday starting at 2:00pm against Long Beach State.
