Looking for Mother's Day brunch? Here's the best spot on the Seacoast, according to Yelp
A spot in Wells has been named Yelp's best brunch restaurant in Maine for 2025. Congdon's Doughnuts Family Restaurant and Bakery earned a place on the online rating and review platform's 2025 list of the Best Brunch Spots in Each State, which was updated on April 14. Yelp compiled the list by ranking breakfast and brunch businesses a based on the volume and ratings of reviews given by Yelp Elite Squad members ― local users who have been selected for their well-written reviews, high-quality photos and helpful behavior on the platform. This Worcester favorite made the list Located in Wells, Congdon's delicious doughnuts and other sweet treats helped it land the top spot in Maine and on the Seacoast. Congdon's Doughnuts is located at 1090 Post Rd in Wells, Maine. You can find "Maine's Favorite Doughnut" at Congdon's, the website says. The restaurant has been serving fresh, homemade doughnuts in Wells since 1955. They offer over two dozen flavors of donuts in raised, filled, chocolate and plain categories, as well as apple, blueberry, and maple bacon fritters. They also serve eggs, breakfast bowls, burritos, sandwiches and a variety of beverages. Congdon's Doughnuts is currently open 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday through Sunday. In the summer, they are generally open 7 days a week. It offers counter/cafe style service, and you can order online or pre-order doughnuts. They also have a food truck park that will open on Memorial Day weekend. The restaurant and bakery has 4.5 stars out of 828 reviews. "Tried their St Patrick's Day burrito. Pastrami with sourkraut and cheese! Was great, huge. I couldn't eat it all at one sitting," said Yelp user Kauaikuuipo C. "Went back recently for a batch of donuts for the grand kids. They thought they died and went to heaven." "We love Congdon's!!" said Dianne A. "The donuts are the best around. The cinnamon roll was huge and sweet." "The best fritters around New England area hands down!!!" said Travis C. "I ordered the blueberry, apple and maple bacon. All were amazing but Apple is the best and second was Blueberry and third was Maple Bacon. They're also not overly sweet and to me they're just right. Very soft and great texture on the fritters."
