Funding of €100,000 will see works being undertaken at busy Wexford theatre
Speaking at the March meeting of New Ross Municipal District Alan Fitzhenry, district manager, said that the council were delighted to support the successful application of St Michael's Theatre under the 2024 Town and Village Renewal Scheme – Project Development Measure.
He said that council official Mick McCormack is overseeing the scheme adding that Conroy Architects have been appointed as Design and Architectural Consultants.
"They will now work closely with the theatre and Wexford County Council to design the new roof and other elements, in order to get it 'shovel ready' for a contractor,' Mr Fitzhenry said.
Cathaoirleach of the District Council and board member of St Michael's Theatre, Cllr Brídín Murphy said: 'I'm delighted that St Michael's Theatre has been granted €100,000 under the Community Centre Investment Fund for roof repairs.'
'The theatre is such a valuable asset to our town and great to see this recognised,' she added.
