Caterpillar event lets customers try cutting-edge equipment
EDWARDS, Ill. (WMBD) — Clients and potential clients of Caterpillar were able to get a hands-on experience with equipment on Wednesday.
This is part of Caterpillar's Construction and Technology days, which showcases the newest machine technology, customer success stories and digital solutions at the Edwards Demonstration and Learning Center.
Barry Littlejohn, the global marketing manager for technology products, explained why events like this are beneficial for Cat and its clients.
'It's events like this that give them the education, the experience, being able to see some of these firsthand,' Littlejohn said. 'So it's really important for our customers to get hands on with those to see that benefit.'

Trent Lance, a foreman for T&K Utilities, made the trip from his company's location in Asheville, North Carolina to try out equipment and get a glimpse of the different safety innovations being made, which includes better cameras on machinery.
'We've seen just recently the new technology for the cameras and the able to catch any bystanders that are close by, which is something we're probably going to invest in for sure,' Lance said.
Even WMBD was able to get a try operating the excavator, which made for a fun experience.
