Darby Allin Sets World Record During His Climb Of Mount Everest

Darby Allin is staying busy in more ways than one. Allin began his climb of Mt. Everest on April 8, 2025. Allin had been training for the ascent for several months. The AEW star is working with Adventure Consultants, a New Zealand-based adventure company, during his hike to the summit. Advertisement Allin's group began their climb in Nepal and have continued to make regular progress updates in the last month. On Monday morning, Allin shared a video of himself setting a world record for the highest elevation kickflip on Mount Everest. Allin confirmed with a watch on-site that he successfully did a kickflip at an elevation of 20,958 feet. Darby Allin added another milestone to the world record book There are 52 Guinness World Records listed for setting a 'highest elevation' record with a skateboard, including highest indie flip and highest altitude skateboarding. The latter record was set in 2019 by Sam Newstead and Julian O'Shea of Australia at the Sairecabur Volcano in the Atacama Desert, Chile. Their record was for actually skating on the board at an elevation of 5,700 m (18,700.79 ft). Advertisement Allin is about 2,000 feet higher in elevation, although he will be credited with performing the kickflip move, not actually skating. Therefore, Allin is likely setting a new world record rather than breaking an existing one. A recent update showed that Allin is 'doing great' on his journey to the top of Mount Everest. It's unclear when Allin will return from his trip. However, a standard Mount Everest expedition generally takes about two months. This means he could be done anytime between June and July. Darby Allin has not competed in AEW in 2025. His last match was a time limit draw with Ricochet in the Continental Classic 2024 Gold League bracket in December 2024.
