COOK COUNTY, Ill. – The Chicago Department of Health and Cook County Department of Public Health confirmed two measles cases in Cook County, Illinois. The health departments shared the news today, saying that one case surrounds an adult who is a resident in Cook County. Subscribe Now The second case surrounds an adult from Chicago who traveled internationally at O'Hare Airport in April. Officials said that the individual from Chicago—who is now isolating in their house—previously received an MMR vaccine dosage. Both health organizations encourage those who plan to travel internationally to receive two doses of MMR before they leave the country. Irving Park Rd. Tuesday 04/22/2025: O'Hare Airport, 10am–8pm, especially Terminal 1 Wednesday 04/23/2025: O'Hare Airport, 10am–8pm, especially Terminal 1 Friday 04/25/2025: Aldi: 7235 39th St, Lyons, IL 6053, 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Sunday 04/27/2025 Shell: 3901 S. Harlem Ave., Stickney, IL 60402, 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Monday 04/28/2025 Mobil: 2945 S. Harlem Ave, Berwyn, IL 60402, 10:20 a.m.-1 p.m. Potential symptoms for the measles include a fever, cough, runny nose, watery eyes and sore throat. April 30 (Reuters) - The Chicago Department of Public Health and Cook County Department of Public Health on Wednesday confirmed two measles cases in Cook County. One case was identified as an adult who is a suburban Cook County resident, and whose vaccination status is unknown. Another case was identified in an adult Chicago resident who traveled internationally through O'Hare Airport in early April. The patient, who had one prior dose of the measles vaccine, had a rash that started on April 25 and has been isolated at home since being diagnosed.
