SESAME STREET Lands New Streaming Home at Netflix With New Format and the Return of Fan-Favorite Segments — GeekTyrant
Sesame Street is moving streaming locations. The classic kids series was not renewed at HBO/Max, and Netflix quickly picked it up. The show will make its debut on the streamer later this year with an all-new, reimagined 56th season — plus 90 hours of previous episodes — available to audiences worldwide. The new episodes, which will now center on one 11-minute story, will be available same day-and-date in the U.S. on PBS stations and PBS KIDS digital platforms, keeping U.S. kids' free access to early learning for free. In addition to format changes, the new season will feature the return of fan-favorite segments like Elmo's World and Cookie Monster's Foodie Truck. Sesame Workshop is the global nonprofit behind Sesame Street, with Sal Perez and Kay Wilson Stallings serving as executive producers; Emmy, Humanitas, and NAACP Award nominee Halcyon Person (Karma's World, Dee & Friends in Oz) joins as head writer. Netflix will also be able to develop video games for both Sesame Street and Sesame Street Mecha Builders . via: Deadline

‘Sesame Street' taking up residence on Netflix
We can definitely tell you how to get to 'Sesame Street.' It was announced Monday that the popular longstanding children's program has found a new home at Netflix. The news comes after Warner Bros. Discovery, CNN's parent company, opted not to renew its contract to stream the series on Max (returning to the name HBO Max.) 'The new season will feature fresh format changes and the return of fan-favorite segments like Elmo's World and Cookie Monster's Foodie Truck,' the streamer announced. 'Additionally, episodes will now center on one 11-minute story, allowing for even more character-driven humor and heart.' The series will still be available on PBS. President Donald Trump recently signed an executive order to end federal funding for PBS and NPR.

'Sesame Street' inks deal with Netflix, new season to stream this year
"Sesame Street" is coming to Netflix with a new season later this year. The show, which has been a hallmark of children's TV for over half a century, will release a new season with "fresh format changes" and the return of fan-favorite segments like "Elmo's World" and "Cookie Monster's Foodie Truck," Sesame Workshop said in a press release. The deal announced Monday comes months after Warner Bros. Discovery said it was not renewing its deal with the long-running children's show. In the new season, Cookie Monster will open his own Cookie Cart on Sesame Street, and Abby Cadabby's Fairy Garden will be home to "surprising and delightful magical creatures," the release states. The episodes will also center on one 11-minute story to allow for "even more character-driven humor and heart." "Sesame Street" will continue to be available on PBS Kids. Season 56 will be released in three batches. "We are excited to announce that all new Sesame Street episodes are coming to @netflix worldwide along with library episodes, and new episodes will also release the same day on @PBS Stations and @PBSKIDS platforms in the US, preserving a 50+ year relationship,' the show said in a post on X. "The support of Netflix, PBS, and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting serve as a unique public-private partnership to enable Sesame Street to continue to help children everywhere grow smarter, stronger, and kinder.'
