Sheetz MTO wins Coolest Thing Made in PA 2025 title

(WJET/WFXP)– The people have voted and there's a new Coolest Thing Made in PA, Sheetz MTO food has won the title for this year's contest. Out of 64 contestants this year, the Altoona-based store ate up the competition to win this year's Coolest Thing Made in PA competition after taking down Crayola Crayons in the final round. 'We are honored and so grateful to be named the 'Coolest Thing in Pennsylvania,'' said Sheetz EVP of Marketing and Supply Chain Ryan Sheetz. 'Our MTOs have been fueling Sheetz Runs for almost 40 years across the Commonwealth bringing value, customization, and variety to Sheetz Freakz everywhere – 24/7/365!' Put together by the Pennsylvania Chamber, Pennsylvanians placed more than 65,000 votes in this year's competition across PA Chamber's TikTok, Instagram, X and LinkedIn starting back on March 18 paying homage to products made in the Keystone State. 'From our public bracket unveiling in March to reveling in the close matchups over these last several weeks and seeing the voters weigh in, this year's contest wasn't only fun but again showcased Pennsylvania's excellence in manufacturing, consumer engagement, and brand loyalty,' said PA Chamber President and CEO Luke Bernstein. 'We love hosting this annual contest to remind people how many incredible products are made here and beloved across the Commonwealth, the nation, and worldwide. Erie Regional Airport Authority hosting Global Entry event

(WJET/WFXP) — The Erie Regional Airport Authority announced Tuesday they're hosting another round of interviews for Global Entry enrollment after seeing spots fill quickly during last year's event. As part of a partnership with U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the airport authority will be conducting interviews over the course of five days at Erie International Airport. Smith's moves on to semi-finals for Coolest Thing Made in PA Interviews will be held from April 28 to May 2 from 8:30 to 4:30 either by appointment or by walk-in for $120, although appointments will take priority. Global Entry offers expedited clearance for pre-approved, low-risk travelers coming to the United States as part of the Trusted Traveler Program and allows for quicker trips through customs at select airports. A beloved Erie hot dog company is in the running for Coolest Thing Made in PA. The competition started out with 64 contestants and now stands at 16 as public voting resumes Wednesday at noon. Drivers encounter spring potholes after winter weather left behind dozens of hazards The president of Smith's Provision Company Sara Kallner said it was a surprise to find out the hot dog company was in the running to begin with upon initial discovery from the Pennsylvania chamber. Kallner says she didn't give the competition much thought until voting began last week. She said the Erie Regional Chamber and Growth Partnership as well as the Manufacturers Association pushed behind the company in the competition. Erie Habitat for Humanity, Erie Insurance partner up to build two new homes 'We are very grateful for the community support we're humbled by the nomination and we are so indebted to the Erie community we feel very very lucky and priveledged to manufacture in Erie where we have such a supportive community of not just Smith's but so many other wonderful local products that comes out of Erie,' she said.
