Four-star offensive tackle to visit Nebraska later this month
Four-star offensive tackle to visit Nebraska later this month
The Nebraska Cornhuskers will host a four-star class of 2027 recruit later this month. Offensive tackle Cooper Hackett will visit the Lincoln campus on March 26.
Hackett is not ranked in the 247Sports Rankings, but he does have a growing offer sheet. Arkansas, North Carolina State, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma State have all extended offers to him. He measures 6-feet-7 and weighs 250 pounds.
Hackett's recruitment has been active recently. On Monday, the Fighting Irish offered him a scholarship. All of his offers have come in March, as several teams begin to shift towards their 2027 classes.
Over the last couple of classes, the Huskers have focused on the offensive line position quite a bit. They have several linemen on the roster ready to compete immediately. Nevertheless, building depth for the future at the position is the smart way to go.
Currently, the 2027 recruiting class has zero commitments. However, we have seen a rise in offerings over the past few days, which should be the norm moving forward. Nebraska could use additional depth at the tackle position and Hackett's profile certainly indicates that he can potentially be a big-time player.
