Seahawks' 3 largest 2025 cap hits: offense

The Seattle Seahawks are currently equipped with $31.2 million in cap space, according to Over The Cap. General manager John Schneider has built a well-balanced squad, with no player scheduled to carry a charge larger than $15 million in 2025. Having analyzed the financial situation, we've identified Seattle's three-largest scheduled cap charges on offense heading into the new season. Noah Fant, TE Veteran tight end Noah Fant is currently slated to carry the Seahawks' largest cap charge on offense at $13.4 million. The Seahawks have drafted tight ends in consecutive drafts in AJ Barner and Elijah Arroyo. Fant is entering a contract year and likely doesn't factor into the team's 2026 plans. Sam Darnold, QB The Seahawks signed new starting quarterback Sam Darnold to a three-year, $100.5 million contract in free agency. Darnold's cap number is a very manageable $13.4 million this season, though he's set to explode to $33.9 million in 2026 and $44.9 million in 2027. The upcoming campaign will be the lone one Seattle gets a huge discount on its QB's cap number. Cooper Kupp, WR Cooper Kupp joined the Seahawks via a three-year, $45 million deal following his release from the Los Angeles Rams. Kupp's cap number is just $9.3 million this season, scheduled to nearly double to $17.5 million in 2024. The Seahawks could release the aging wideout prior to the completion of his three-year agreement though. How have West Coast teams like the Rams fared in London games?

How have West Coast teams like the Rams fared in London games? The Rams will make their first trip to London since 2019 and will face an AFC South foe who is familiar with international games The Los Angeles Rams will travel to London to take on the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 7 this season, their fourth trip overseas since 2016. Although traveling from the West Coast to London may seem like a disadvantage due to the travel, the AFC and NFC West teams have actually found success in these games, especially as of late. The Jaguars, on the other hand, have played in London every year since 2013 – except for 2020 due to the COVID pandemic. Digging deeper into the results, West Coast teams seem to perform well in London, even more so in recent years. Since 2007, when the NFL announced yearly games to take place at either Wembley or Tottenham Hotspur Stadium – which are both in London – teams from the West Coast have gone 9-5 in these games. This includes four straight wins by these teams from 2018 to 2022. The Rams themselves have played four games in London since 2008, with one of those games coming while the organization still played in St. Louis. They have a .500 record in those four games, with an overall record of 2-2. Most recently, they defeated the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2019 season, 24-10, a game where Cooper Kupp amassed a whopping 220 yards, including a 65-yard touchdown. Although the Jaguars are often referred to as London's team since they have played the most games there and have the largest fan base in the area, the long travel does not seem to deter West Coast teams from achieving success across the pond. The Rams will look to continue their success in London and take care of business in their lone international game this year. They'll make the trip even easier by playing in Baltimore the week prior, so they won't have to fly directly from L.A. to London. Follow Rams Wire on X, Facebook and Threads for more coverage!

When will Cooper Kupp return to LA for his 1st game against the Rams?

When will Cooper Kupp return to LA for his 1st game against the Rams? The Los Angeles Rams made Cooper Kupp a free agent when they cut him in March, allowing the star receiver to sign with any team in the NFL. Naturally, he picked the Seattle Seahawks, joining one of the Rams' biggest rivals and heading home to the Pacific Northwest. By signing with the Seahawks, Kupp now has the opportunity to play his former team twice a year. On Wednesday, we learned exactly when those two games against the Rams will fall on the 2025 schedule. Kupp will return to Los Angeles before the Seahawks welcome the Rams to Seattle, making his first game against his old team at SoFi Stadium. That game will be in Week 11, a 4:05 p.m. ET kickoff on FOX. He'll then face the Rams in Seattle in Week 16, which is a prime-time matchup on Thursday Night Football. Kupp should receive a warm welcome from the fans in Los Angeles when he's introduced at SoFi Stadium, given all that he accomplished with the Rams. If not for him, the Rams probably wouldn't have won the Super Bowl in 2021. He's one of the most popular players in franchise history and even though he plays for a rival now, he's beloved by those in Los Angeles.

2025 NFL Schedule: What is the toughest game on the Bucs schedule?

2025 NFL Schedule: What is the toughest game on the Bucs schedule? The 2025 NFL schedules have been released, and one question remains: What will be the toughest matchup for the team this year? Initially, looking at the opponents, one might think the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles, the Buffalo Bills, and the Atlanta Falcons. The latter would make sense after blundering in two games last year against them. Or perhaps even the reigning number one team in the NFC playoffs last year, the Detroit Lions? Even though all of them are great options, the toughest could be against the Los Angeles Rams. The Rams? You may ask: Considering how the last few matchups have gone, I believe that flying to Los Angeles after playing the Buffalo Bills the week before will be the toughest test. The Buccaneers have to face in the 2025 season. Sean McVay has been a thorn in the Buccaneers' side for years, especially in the playoffs, handing the Buccaneers one of the toughest losses in recent memory with 30 seconds left on a deep ball to Cooper Kupp that set the Rams up to win the game with a field goal. But that's in the past. The Los Angeles Rams have added Davante Adams to their already deadly offense, with Puka Nacua across from Adams and Kyren Williams in the backfield. McVay's West Coast motion offense is troublesome for any teams, but it could continue to be a nightmare for the Buccaneers' young defense; it could be a death sentence.

Seattle Seahawks 2025 schedule: Reunion games for Sam Darnold, Cooper Kupp and DK Metcalf

The Athletic has live coverage of the 2025 NFL schedule release. The NFL will release the 2025 schedules for all 32 teams at 8 p.m. ET on Wednesday. Here is what we know about the Seattle Seahawks' schedule so far. The Seahawks will play each team from the NFC South and AFC South, as well as the 2024 second-place teams from the NFC East, NFC North and AFC North. Seattle will also see its NFC West division rivals twice, once on the road and once at Lumen Field, as part of its 17-game schedule. Advertisement Here is the lineup of home and road opponents, listed alphabetically. The Seahawks went 10-7 in the 2024 regular season in their first year under coach Mike Macdonald, falling shy of the playoffs for the second consecutive season. The team has not shied away from high expectations in 2025 despite trading away Pro Bowlers at quarterback (Geno Smith) and wide receiver (DK Metcalf) in the offseason, replacing them with Sam Darnold and Cooper Kupp, respectively. The Seahawks will face Metcalf (in Pittsburgh against the Steelers), and Darnold (against the Vikings in Seattle) and Kupp (against the Rams, home and away) will each face their former teams this season. Seattle is not scheduled to face Smith's new team — the Las Vegas Raiders, now led by longtime Seahawks coach Pete Carroll — until 2026. Come back Wednesday night for the Seahawks' week-to-week schedule, plus season analysis and predictions. (Photo of Cooper Kupp: Steph Chambers / Getty Images)
