Spartans are first to offer highly-touted kicking specialist Cooper Peterson
Michigan State football has extended an offer to a kicking specialist in the 2026 class from North Carolina.
Cooper Peterson of Charlotte announced on Wednesday that he's received an offer from the Spartans. Peterson made the offer known via a post on his social media X account.
Peterson is a kicker and punter in the 2026 class. He is unranked on 247Sports and Rivals, but that is typical for a kicking specialist on the recruiting sites.
Michigan State is the first school to extend an offer to Peterson, according to Rivals and 247Sports. While he only holds one offer at this time, he has received interest from a number of schools, including Ohio State, Tennessee, Notre Dame, Wisconsin, Wake Forest, Virginia Tech, North Carolina, NC State, James Madison, Coastal Carolina and Western Kentucky.
