Nebraska adds Australian punter Archie Wilson

Nebraska adds Australian punter Archie Wilson Nebraska football officially added punter Archie Wilson to the roster on Monday. This was reported by multiple media outlets. Wilson trained at Pro Kick Academy in Australia, a place that is known for developing punters. Wilson's addition fits with the vision of special-teams coach Mike Ekeler. He is a rugby-style punter, which involves rolling out before kicking the football. This addition is significant, given that the Huskers parted ways with Jack McAllister earlier this spring. McAllister had arrived in Lincoln before Eckler's arrival, and the special teams direction immediately shifted. Now, Wilson will compete for the starting job, as the Huskers continue to round out their roster. It will be interesting to see what this special-teams unit looks like and how Wilson will make an impact on it. The Huskers averaged 39.4 net yards per punt last season, with Brian Buschini handling the punting duties. Nebraska softball star named NFCA DI Player of the Year

Nebraska softball star named NFCA DI Player of the Year Nebraska softball star Jordyn Bahl was named the NFCA DI Player of the Year on Wednesday. Bahl is Nebraska's first player of the year honoree. She was also a unanimous selection as an NFCA First-Team All-American. She's the program's first NFCA First-Team All-American since MJ Knighten in 2016. Bahl finished the season with a .462 batting average while slugging .988 with an on-base percentage of .555. She had 72 runs, 78 hits, 16 doubles, two triples, 23 home runs and 66 RBIs. The Nebraska native also set numerous records for the Huskers this season. She owns Nebraska single-season records in extra-base hits (41), home runs (23), runs scored (72), total bases (167), batting average (.462), and slugging percentage (.988). As a pitcher, she had a 26-8 record with a 1.56 ERA. She threw eight shutouts in 34 starts with 24 complete games. Bahl also had 286 strikeouts and only 46 earned runs across 206.1 innings pitched. Nebraska quarterback commit visiting campus in June

Nebraska football quarterback commit Trae Taylor will return to campus on June 1 to take part in the Nebraska football camp. Taylor made the announcement on social media earlier this week. The quarterback has been active on social media, engaging with recruits and fans. He is one of the top prospects in the country for the class of 2026, the 14th overall player nationally, the top player in the state of Illinois, and the third overall quarterback per Rivals rankings. Advertisement Taylor officially committed to Nebraska on May 1. The quarterback's visit in June could be notable, as it will give him time to visit with some of the top prospects in the country. He will also have a chance to peer recruit for the 2027 class and build around himself as he sees fit. There is still a lot of time between now and 2027, but it's encouraging that he wants to be active in recruiting.
