52-year-old man identified by Fresno coroner who died in heavily engulfed house fire

The Fresno County Coroner's Office identified the man who died in a fire at a home in Fresno. He is Kenneth Edie, 52, of Fresno. Crews from the Fresno Fire Department responded to the fire in the 2000 block of Cornelia Avenue, between McKinley and Clinton avenues. When crews arrived, they found an outbuilding behind a home that was heavily engulfed, as well as vehicles and other buildings around it, Fresno Fire said. Fire officials said crews were able to extinguish the fire, preventing the blaze from spreading to nearby neighborhoods. Fire officials said a neighbor told them someone 'was possibly living in a trailer that was inside of a shop in the back where the fire actually started.' Crews put water inside the structure and found Edie, who was pronounced dead. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
