Aaron Martin enters race for Broome County Clerk
BROOME COUNTY, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – A third candidate is preparing to enter the race for Broome County Clerk.
Aaron Martin has scheduled an announcement for tomorrow, launching his candidacy to replace Joe Mihalko, who is retiring.
Martin has been Broome County Legislature Clerk for 14 years and worked for the late State Senator Tom Libous before that. He also serves as the Broome County Conservative Party Chair.
Martin told News 34 previously that he would seek both the Conservative and Republican Party nominations.
That could set up a primary between Martin and Republican Rich David, the former Mayor of Binghamton, who has his official campaign announcement scheduled for Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Nick Libous, son of the former Senator, plans to run as a Democrat.
