SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Officials say there is an error in over 500 mail-in ballots mailed out to Republican voters in Lackawanna County.
Lackawanna County Communications Director Patrick McKenna told 28/22 News Saturday that, due to a printer's error, 545 Republican voters in Scranton for the upcoming primary election on May 20.
Director of the County Department of Elections and Voter Registration Beth Hopkins said voters who got those ballots should discard them, and that correct ballots will be mailed to those voters by Thursday, April 30.

Hopkins explained that the printing company apparently selected the incorrect Republican ballot file to print for Scranton voting precincts.
The 545 voters in Scranton got ballots for the 2024 primary rather than the upcoming 2025 primary election, according to Hopkins.
More than 12,000 voters of both parties countywide got mail-in ballots for the approaching primary, and only 545 of those ballots are incorrect, according to Hopkins.
