Ocean City heats up with fun events at Fager's Island, Seacrets. Full entertainment slate
A plethora of annual spring events are set for beach bars and restaurants in the coming days, and that's not all. A host of concerts will feature comedians and national music acts.
In Ocean City, Fager's Island will host its 13th annual Brewgrass celebration from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 29 ($80). In addition to food and 20 different craft beers on tap, there will be music from both The 19th Street Band and The String Buzzards. Fager's has also set April 28 as the date of its first Monday deck party of the year; local classic-rock favorite Transfuzion will play at 5 p.m., and admission will be free.
Elsewhere in OC, Seacrets has announced the first show of its annual summer concert series. Reggae-rock quartet Ballyhoo will perform Wednesday, June 25, following a 7 p.m. opening set by Joint Operation ($15 or free with local ID).
In the more immediate future, Seacrets is gearing up for next week's annual Craft Mac & Cheers! Beer & Pig Roast. This year's edition will take place from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 5 and will include tunes from Elephants Dancing ($49).

In coastal Sussex County, the Room at Cedar Grove has several events in store. Located west of Lewes, the venue described by owner Paul Cullen as a 'rock 'n' roll dinner theater' has placed tickets on sale for a second concert by virtuoso jazz guitarist Stanley Jordan. A Wednesday, April 16 appearance sold out almost immediately.
Jordan will now arrive a day early to also play at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 15 ($116 includes dinner). While he is famous for his one-man performances, this current tour features a backing band and is a tribute to the freeform song stylings of the Grateful Dead.
The schedule at the Room at Cedar Grove this week includes "Big Timing Comedy: A Night of Comedy and Music' at 6:30 p.m. Friday, March 28. Participants include Sefan Subotich, Eric Jolicoeur, Wendi Townsend and John Dayton ($59).
The Lewes Brewing Co., which opened downtown last year, also has a laugh fest on tap. Kricket Comedy, featuring co-headliners Eddie Gallagher and Steve Bickel, will visit the brewpub located on eastbound Savannah Road on Saturday, March 29 ($20). General admission seating will begin at 7:15 p.m., with show time set for 8 p.m.

The Listening Booth, located on southbound Route 1 at Midway (in the Coastal Plaza strip mall), is busy as always this spring. Singer-pianist Josh Christina and his band will mix original songs with favorites by Jerry Lee Lewis and Elton John when they headline Friday, March 28 ($15, $25). The Storytellers will open the show at 7 p.m.
