Melanie Nazareth Talks About ‘Everyday Fun' On Rishto Se Bandhi Gauri Sets

Melanie Nazareth, who plays Usha in Rishto Se Bandhi Gauri, believes that the off-screen bond with co-actors is directly reflected in their performances.
Shooting floors are more than just roll, camera, and action. In television, where long shooting schedules keep actors together for extended hours, a natural camaraderie often develops. This bond not only enhances on-screen chemistry but also deepens personal connections. The set of the popular television show Rishto Se Bandhi Gauri is no exception.
Recently, Melanie Nazareth, who plays Usha in the show, shared insights about her off-screen connection with her fellow cast members. In an interview with ETimes, she said, 'Off-screen, we've built a really amazing bond, honestly, we didn't expect it ourselves! But yes, all of us have put in the effort. A bond doesn't form just between one or two people; it's something everyone contributes to."
She further explained how, contrary to the intense fights shown on screen, the cast shares a warm and supportive bond in real life. 'Just like we fight a lot on screen and have intense scenes, off-screen, we have real unity and a lot of patience with each other. We tolerate and support one another a lot," Melanie added.
The 'Crazy Roasters" WhatsApp Group
Melanie revealed that the cast of Rishto Se Bandhi Gauri has a WhatsApp group named 'Crazy Roasters," which keeps the fun going beyond work hours. Sharing the reason behind the quirky name of the group, Melanie explained, 'We even made a WhatsApp group called 'Crazy Roasters' because we're always roasting and pulling each other's legs."
Fun Activities on Set
And if you think their bond was limited to just the WhatsApp group, then you're mistaken. The camaraderie of the cast extends into daily fun routines on set as well. Melanie mentioned that they would often plan something as simple as ordering pani puri on the sets in the evening or just deciding what special dish they would want to try on a particular day. 'Even though most of us are health freaks and on a diet, we still do these fun things," Melanie said.
Impact of Real-Life Bond on Performance
Melanie believes that this off-screen chemistry directly reflects in their performances. She explained, 'As for our on-screen chemistry, you can see it for yourself, every single person is working really hard on their character. Everyone has completely gotten into the skin of their role. Now, we don't even need to try too hard; as soon as the director says 'action,' the character comes alive in us naturally. So yes, our chemistry, both on-screen and off-screen, is truly amazing."
