SpaceX launched 23 Starlink satellites from Florida space force station
COCOA BEACH, Fla. (WFLA) — SpaceX held a Falcon 9 launch Sunday of 23 Starlink satellites from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. The launch was scheduled to begin at 10:09 p.m. This was the 20th flight for the first stage of this mission. SpaceX launches Falcon 9 rocket into the night on Starlink mission from Cape Canaveral
SpaceX brought a bright start to the week as a Falcon 9 rocket lit up the night sky − and it is only the first of more launches to come. The Starlink 12-23 mission took off at 10:09 p.m. from Cape Canaveral Launch Complex 40 after being moved forward 49 minutes. SpaceX rarely moves launch times forward, and has not revealed a reasoning. The 23 Starlink internet satellites traveled into the night sky on a southeast trajectory. The well-flown booster was seeing its 20th flight. Previous missions the booster launched include: 12 previous Starlink missions, NASA's Crew-5, GPS III Space Vehicle 06, Inmarsat I6-F2, CRS-28, Intelsat G-37, NG-20, and TD7. Just over eight minutes later, the booster landed on the Just Read the Instructions drone ship which was stationed out on the Atlantic Ocean. No Space Coast sonic booms were heard. Those waiting for another rocket launch do not have to wait much longer, as both ULA and SpaceX have launches scheduled for the start of the week. When is the next launch? Is there a launch today? Upcoming SpaceX, NASA rocket launch schedule at Cape Canaveral A doubleheader launch day is coming up. First up, the much delayed Kuiper Atlas 1 mission will launch atop an Atlas V rocket from Cape Canaveral Launch Complex 41. The mission is Amazon's first batch of internet satellites, known as Project Kuiper, and is set to launch during a two-hour window which opens at 7 p.m. on April 28. SpaceX is scheduled to launch its Starlink 12-10 mission later that night. According to the Federal Aviation Administration, that window runs from 9:37 p.m. to 2:08 a.m. (April 29). SpaceX to launch new batch of Starlink satellites from Florida: How to watch
CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. - SpaceX is gearing up to send another batch of Starlink satellites into low-Earth orbit from Florida on Tuesday afternoon. What we know A Falcon 9 rocket is set to blast off from the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, carrying 23 Starlink – 13 of which are equipped with Direct to Cell capabilities. Liftoff is scheduled for 3:57 p.m. with backup windows until 6 p.m. Additional launch opportunities are set for Wednesday starting at 3:30 p.m., if needed. After stage separation, the booster will make its return and land on the "A Shortfall of Gravitas" droneship stationed in the Atlantic Ocean. By the numbers This launch will mark the 19th flight for the first stage booster, which has already supported numerous missions, including Crew-5, GPS III Space Vehicle 06, Inmarsat I6-F2, and CRS-28. What we don't know SpaceX has not disclosed specific details on the operational timeline for the Direct to Cell service or which mobile carriers will integrate the new technology. NASA, SpaceX Crew-10 launch prompts sonic boom advisory in Central Florida
People in Central Florida could hear a mysterious 'boom' Wednesday night. NASA and SpaceX crews are preparing to send the next crewed mission to the International Space Station. The SpaceX Crew-10 launch is planned for Wednesday from Launch Complex 39A at Kennedy Space Center. The launch window will open at 7:48 p.m., with another opportunity at 7:26 p.m. on Thursday. The Crew Dragon spacecraft used for this launch has previously flowed NASA astronauts to the ISS for the Crew-3, Crew-5, and Crew-7 missions. After the launch, SpaceX will attempt to launch the first state booster back on the ground at its landing site at the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. SpaceX said residents in Brevard, Orange, Osceola, Indian River, Seminole, Volusia, Polk, St. Lucie, and Okeechobee counties could hear one or more sonic booms during the landing.
