Bodies of gran, mum and baby girl found in flat alongside four dead dogs

The bodies of three generations of women have been found in a flat. In a tragic incident in Brazil, a woman, her mother, and infant daughter were found deceased inside their flat, alongside their four pet dogs. The toddler's other grandmother alerted the police after failing to contact the family. Upon entry into the 13th-floor apartment located in Belo Horizonte, officers discovered three generations passed away on a bed, surrounded by their pets. The deceased have been identified as 68 year old Cristina Lúcia Bastos Teixeira, her daughter 42 year old Daniela Teixeira Antonini, and nearly two year old Giovanna Antonini Vasconcelos. ‌ Local law enforcement is currently probing into the causes of death. A statement from the building manager outlined the escalating concern: "She [the baby's paternal grandmother] contacted me very worried, perhaps feeling that something bad had happened. ‌ "I said that I was arriving at the building and that I would go to the 13th floor where they lived. As soon as I arrived on the floor, I smelled a very strong odour and called the police." Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! The family had not been spotted since May 3, with forced entry into the home being made on May 9, as officers found all possible entrances securely locked on arrival, reports the Mirror. The infant's father informed the authorities that his daughter endured a grave health issue, entailing a disconnection between her oesophagus and stomach. The couple has since parted ways. The local Civil Police have taken over the investigation and issued a statement confirming the dispatch of a forensics squad to the flat for evidence gathering. Currently, they have not dismissed any potential leads in the case. ‌ Post-mortem examinations are being conducted on the deceased individuals. Further details regarding the breed or ages of the four dogs involved remain undisclosed, and it's unclear if their demise is linked to that of their owner. A representative from the force declared: "The Civil Police are awaiting the conclusion of the expert reports to confirm the circumstances and causes of the deaths and, at the moment, no line of investigation has been ruled out." With approximately 2.3 million residents, Belo Horizonte stands as Brazil's third-largest metropolis.
