Support local military at Cross Lake Floatilla fun day
CADDO PARISH, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – You can enjoy a floatilla and support local military members this weekend. The American Legion Post 14 will host a flag day ceremony and Cross Lake Floatilla Saturday, June 14 starting at 9 a.m. There will be food trucks, slip-in-slides, bounce houses, along with a Lifeshare Blood Drive that goes directly to the local VA hospital. Plus a boat show on Cross Lake. The band The Crowd will play all your favorite 90s' country songs. Proceeds benefit local vets. Organizers say come swim, float, and hang out. Shreveport's Cross Lake Floatilla promises fun for all
SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – It's one of Shreveport's favorite summer traditions, the annual Cross Lake Floatilla is back with Saturday, June 14th. Free summer events and camps for kids in Shreveport-Bossier Boaters are expected to hit the water by the dozens. But you don't have to be in the water to enjoy the event. There will be a boat parade, food, live entertainment, fireworks and more. 'There will be people cruising around, a poker run, and there's bands playing and all this excitement,' says Eric Sullivan, member of Cross Lake Floatilla Board of Directors. Gates open at 8 a.m. at El Karubah Shriners on 6230 S. Lakeshore Dr. in Shreveport and the fun will go on past sunset. Proceeds benefit multiple local organizations like The Hub, Shriners Children's, Jewell House, Heart of Hope Maternity, Ninna's Road to Rescue, Pet Savers, and Woody's Home for Veterans.
