Liam Payne's girlfriend Kate Cassidy will be receiving no money from his €24 million fortune, Liam's ex Cheryl in charge of the estate
Singer/songwriter Liam Payne passed away on October 16, 2024, in Argentina, after he fell out of the third-floor balcony of his hotel room. The singer passed without setting up a will to determine the beneficiaries and the percentage they will be getting from his estate. According to reports, Payne's girlfriend Kate Cassidy will not be getting anything from the €24 million (approximately Rs 273 crores) left behind by the former One Direction member. Due to an absence of a will, all control of Payne's assets will go to his ex-partner Sheryl Tweedy, with whom he shares a son. Sheryl shot to fame during her time as a member of the pop group Girls Aloud and met Liam for the first time during an episode of X Factor. Sheryl was a judge on the show, and Liam auditioned for the show and sang the famous tune 'Cry Me A River' by Julie London. The couple started dating 8 years after their first meeting, and the relationship lasted for 2 years, during which they welcomed their son Bear into the world. ALSO READ: Liam Payne will be remembered for music that touched many According to rules in the UK regarding intestacy, Bear will be getting the entire estate worth €28 million, which was reduced to €24 million after settling debts and other expenses. It is for Sheryl to decide how the money will be made available to their son, as she is one of the administrators of the estate along with top music lawyer Richard Bray. Reportedly, the Mirror reported that some of Liam's friends claimed that the artiste had made arrangements for his son on the financial front if something were to happen to him. A close source to Liam also talked to the Daily Mail and said, 'Liam had some very sensible people around him for a time, and he adored Bear so much. He always wanted to do the right thing by him financially. It is a small consolation that Bear will never want for anything, that he will at least benefit from that.' While Kate has not made any comment about not getting anything from Payne's vast estate, she posted a couple of stories on Instagram where she could be seen rather unaffected by the news. 'Polytrauma' was confirmed as the cause of Payne's death, which involves internal and external haemorrhage and multiple injuries sustained to several body parts. 5 people were initially charged for Payne's death, including 3 employees from the hotel and even the singer's friend Rogelio Nores. The singer was given an emotional tribute during the Grammys this year by Chris Martin of Coldplay.
