Vonn secures first podium since comeback aged 40
Lindsey Vonn secured her first podium finish since making her comeback at the age of 40 after finishing second in the super-G at the World Cup Finals in Sun Valley, three-time Olympic skiing medallist finished 1.29 seconds behind Switzerland's Lara Gut-Behrami, who claimed a record sixth super-G Vonn retired in February 2019 but announced she would come back to the sport in November last year having had successful knee surgery in made her competitive return at the FIS Fall Festival at Copper Mountain, Colorado in Federica Brignone, who led the super-G season standings by five points going into the event, finished made her World Cup debut aged 16 in 2000 and went on to win 20 World Cup titles - including four overall Crystal Globes - and eight World Championship medals, with 137 World Cup podiums and 82 World Cup won Olympic downhill gold at the Winter Games in Vancouver in 2010, where she also took bronze in the Super-G. She claimed another downhill bronze in Pyeongchang in 2018.

Canada's Kingsbury wins 4th consecutive dual moguls title at world championships
Social Sharing Canadian freestyle skiing star Mikael Kingsbury won his fourth consecutive dual moguls title at the world championships Friday in Corviglia, Switzerland. Kingsbury, from Deux-Montagnes, Que., beat Japanese rival Ikuma Horishima in the final to capture gold, while Australia's Matt Graham won bronze. Horishima prevented Kingsbury from a championship four-peat in moguls' single format on Wednesday. The 32-year-old Kingsbury won silver with 82.86 points in the final, well behind Horishima (89.03). Kingsbury has now reached the podium in seven of eight dual moguls events at the world championships, including five wins. This win came a little easier than usual for the Deux-Montagnes, Que., native, as poor visibility forced the cancellation of the men's final. Kingsbury had the top score in the training runs (81.17) to win his seventh World Cup event this season. South Korean skier Daeyoon Jung (79.08) took silver while Japan's Ikuma Horishima (77.82) won bronze. Kingsbury now has 10 medals (seven golds, three silvers) across 13 World Cup events this season. The Canadian is in the driver's seat when it comes to the race for the Crystal Globes in all three season-long World Cup moguls standings (moguls, dual moguls, and overall). Horishima is the closest competitor to Kingsbury in all three standings. The Japanese skier trails Kingsbury by 176 points in moguls, 64 points in dual moguls, and 240 points in the overall standings. On the women's side, skiers Tess Johnson and Jaelin Kauf gave the U.S. a 1-2 finish in Almaty. Rina Yanagimoto of Japan won bronze. Saskatoon's Maia Schwinghammer finished in 11th place and is in third place in the overall moguls standings. The World Cup moguls circuit continues Saturday with the dual moguls event. Canada claims team Crystal Globe, Dandjinou wins 1,000m at short track World Tour finale in Milan
Canadian mixed, men's relay teams earn silver on final day at 2026 Olympic venue Canadian speed skater William Dandjinou capped his dominant short track World Tour season with another gold while Canada won the team Crystal Globe on Sunday at the finale in Milan, Italy. The 23-year-old rising star clocked one minute 23.025 seconds in the men's 1,000 metres to beat Italian favourite Pietro Sighel (1:23.119) and South Korea's Jang Sung-woo (1:23.220), claiming his Tour-best eighth individual victory of the season. Montreal's Dandjinou, the reigning world champion in the distance, made history Saturday by becoming Canada's first-ever overall Crystal Globe winner. He is aiming to make his Olympic debut at Milano Cortina 2026 on the same oval. Dandjinou finished first overall in the 1,500m standings and second in both the 500m and 1000m. Dandjinou, Pierre-Gilles, Danaé Blais, Florence Brunelle, Félix Roussel, Kim Boutin and Courtney Sarault posted a time of 2:38.187. The Dutch team topped the podium in 2:38.005, while Japan (2:38.339) was moved up to bronze. Pierre-Gilles, Dandjinou and Roussel returned to the podium in the men's relay alongside Dubois and Maxime Laoun with a time of 6:42.878, just 0.06 seconds behind the Italian team.
