Pradhan inaugurates NAAC Cell at CuRAJ during 9th convocation
Jaipur: Union education minister
Dharmendra Pradhan
Thursday inaugurated multiple infrastructure projects at the Central University of Rajasthan (CuRAJ), including a NAAC Cell, new hostels, a Kendriya Vidyalaya, and other key facilities.
He also laid the foundation stone for upcoming developments such as a student hostel, main university gate, internal sports complex, athletics track, and a hostel canteen.
The minister was the chief guest at the university's 9th convocation ceremony, where degrees were awarded to 1,693 students, including 94 gold medallists and 77 PhD scholars. In his address, Pradhan said that convocation ceremonies mark not an end, but a key milestone in the lifelong pursuit of knowledge.
Highlighting Rajasthan's academic talent, he praised the state's strong performance in national-level competitive exams like JEE and NEET, and said this has contributed significantly to India's educational progress.
"Rajasthan has always been a cradle of knowledge, science, art, literature, and thought. This legacy must be carried forward with a modern and innovative mindset," Pradhan said. He suggested that small businesses in Rajasthan could serve as valuable case studies for management institutions.

He added over the last decade, education in India has undergone significant reform, with 54 Indian institutions now featured in the QS World University Rankings, up from just 11 in 2014.
Vice-chancellor Prof Anand Bhalerao highlighted the university's progress. He said, women constitute 44% of CuRAJ's student population — well above the national benchmark of 33%. He added that the university is committed to launching new, skill-oriented courses relevant to current development needs.
