Canfield standout headed to the Division I level
CANFIELD, Ohio (WKBN) – Canfield football standout Angelo Delucia made his commitment to Ohio University official when he signed his national letter of intent to continue his football career on Wednesday morning. 'I've spent my entire childhood grinding for Canfield, always working out and loving the town, loving every part of athletics,' Delucia said. 'So it does feel really cool, just to be able to kind of just carry on with Canfield at the Division I level.' Canfield tennis senior Carson Arfaras also signed to continue his career at the next level while attending Mount Union. 'It's really cool. Angelo's been my best friend forever now, so it's cool to sign it with him and all of our friends being here in the stands, too,' Arfaras said. 'It definitely makes it more exciting to represent Canfield. I grew up here my whole life, so to be able to say that I'm from here and I go to Mount Union, that's special.' Delucia was a member of the 2022 state championship football team and recorded 20 tackles and 2 sacks while limited to six games his senior season. The Ohio Bobcats are coming off an 11-3 season that included a Mid-American Conference championship and a third consecutive bowl game victory with a 30-27 win over Jacksonville State in the Cure Bowl.
