Turkish Central Bank Keeps Year-End Inflation Forecast Unchanged
Turkey's central bank kept its year-end inflation forecast unchanged, following a reversal of its monetary-easing cycle in response to March's currency volatility.
Annual consumer inflation is expected stay at 24%, unchangedfrom previous forecast, Governor Fatih Karahan said at the central bank's headquarters in Istanbul. The projection serves as a guide for policymakers aiming to reach a long-term inflation target of 5%. Markets expect year-end inflation to settle at 30.4%, according to the latest forecasts.
