First inter-Curro public speaking evening hosted by Nelspruit

Curro Nelspruit proudly hosted the inaugural inter-Curro public speaking evening, in collaboration with Curro Meridian Karino and Curro Academy Mbombela on May 7. This groundbreaking event brought young voices from across the Curro community together, offering a platform for learners to express themselves, share their ideas and shine in front of their peers, educators and families. Learners from grades one to seven took to the stage with poise and passion, delivering speeches in both English and Afrikaans. The topics explored ranged from the humorous to the profound, including, 'If schools were run by students', 'My hopes and dreams', 'Bullying', and 'The influence of South Africa on the history of the world'. Each speech was a testament to the creativity, intelligence and courage of the young participants. The evening was filled with insightful opinions, inspirational standpoints and an abundance of laughter. It was clear that the learners had put significant thought and heart into their speeches, and the audience was consistently amazed and entertained. 'This collaborative initiative marks what we hope will be the first of many such gatherings. Bringing together learners from different Curro schools not only encourages public speaking skills, but also fosters a sense of unity and mutual respect,' said Linda van Rensburg, Curro Nelspruit's primary school head. 'It was a privilege for Curro Nelspruit to stand together with our fellow schools and community members to celebrate the voices of our youth. The future is bright, and it speaks with confidence.'
