UCF Knights blow out Bears 13-2

SPRINGFIELD, Mo–The Missouri State Bears were playing head over heels Tuesday night at Hammons Field. In town for the last midweek game of the season, the Central Florida Knights. UCF plays in the Big 12 these days, and is in the middle of a road trip. The Knights were at Oklahoma State last weekend and will be at Texas Tech this weekend. In our Bear Nation update, Missouri State had ducks on the pond in the bottom of the first. Literally, a duck interrupting play in the first. The Bears had the bases loaded, but Tyler Epstein grounds into the force at second to end the inning. MoState had Curry Sutherland on the hill, here he strikes out Antonio Jimenez swinging. Then in the third, the foul ball toward the Knight's dugout, and Logan Fyffe goes over the rail and into the dugout, he's o-k. Didn't matter because Sutherland would get out of the inning by striking out Mateo Gray. Sutherland went three innings of one hit ball with three strikeouts. Missouri State strikes in the bottom of the third, Epstein gets his revenge, the single to center scores Taeg Gollert and it's 1-0 Bears. But the rest of the game belonged to Central Florida, the Knights go onto win 13-2. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
