DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Summer is kicking off and looking to be one for the books, with bright weather and plenty of fantastic opportunities. 2 NEWS compiled a list of events happening around the Miami Valley.
The Faerie Houses of Aullwood – 9 a.m., Aullwood Audubon Center and Farm. Take an easy stroll through Cardinal Trail to search for six charming faerie houses. Learn more.
Union Centre Food Truck Rally – 11:30 a.m., The Square @ Union Centre. This is the 12th annual rally and competition. Over 40 different food trucks will showcase their food. Rain or shine. Learn more.
Affair On Saint Clair – 6 p.m., St. Clair Street. The kick-off of Dayton Pride weekend will feature performances by Curtain Call Queens, Sage Fire and The Rubi Girls. Learn more.
Mixtape Pride Festival coming soon in Dayton
Troy Strawberry Festival – 10 a.m., Troy Area Chamber of Commerce. The massive strawberry festival is a staple of summer, where over 150,000 people visit annually. It runs both Saturday and Sunday. Learn more.
Clothing Giveaway – 10 a.m., St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church. There will be clothes in multiple sizes, and both families and individuals are invited to take what they need, up to one full bag. Learn more.
Pride Parade and Festival – 11 a.m., Jefferson Street. The festival will follow the parade. There will be food, fun and local small vendors. Learn more.
Trotwood citywide garage sale to kick off soon
Running With Pride 5k – 9 a.m., Eastwood Metropark. This is the 10th annual run to raise funds for PFLAG Dayton, which is an organization for LGBT+ people, parents, families, and allies in Dayton. Learn more.
Juneteenth Exhibit – 1 p.m., Wright Memorial Public Library. The National Afro-American Museum and Cultural Center will be showcasing a display on the oldest holiday celebrating emancipation. Learn more.
Jane Austen Tea – 2 p.m., Patterson Homestead. $50. Enjoy a tea time themed around the historic author Jane Austen. Learn more.
