Pakistan attempts to attack websites linked to children

New Delhi: Pakistan has once again resorted to cyberattacks against India. In a continued wave of cyber offensives, Pakistan-sponsored hacker groups such as 'Cyber Group HOAX1337' and 'National Cyber Crew' made unsuccessful attempts to breach some websites. Defence sources told IANS that these hacking efforts were promptly identified and neutralised by Indian cybersecurity agencies. The latest cyberattacks were carried out on Thursday. Highly-placed sources submitted that among the latest provocations, the websites of Army Public School Nagrota and Sunjuwan were targeted and attempted to be defaced with messages mocking the victims of the recent Pahalgam terror attack. In another incident, a website catering to ex-servicemen's healthcare services was defaced, signalling Pakistan's growing frustration. There have been repeated attempts made by hackers operating from Pakistan to attack websites having linkages to children, old age veterans and other innocent people. Resorting to attacking veterans and families' platforms reflects another low by Pakistan and their continuous attempt at unethical ways of operating. The hacking of the Army Institute of Hotel Management's website and Indian Air Force veterans' further illustrates the Pakistani establishment's intent to provoke and escalate tensions in the digital battlespace. These brazen cyberattacks are part of a broader pattern of provocation by Pakistan, which has long employed terrorism and information warfare against India, sources added. Defence experts said that it appears that Pakistan is testing India's restraint and patience. Before these latest cyberattacks, earlier in the past week, Pakistani cyber operators targeted Indian military-related websites, including those of the Army Nursing College, Army Public Schools, Army Welfare Housing Organisation, Army Welfare Placement Organisation and others. On April 22, terrorists opened fire on tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. The brutal attack claimed the lives of 26 people. The terrorists reportedly asked the names of the tourists before shooting at them. Since the incident, the Indian Army has launched an intensive operation against terrorists in the region.

Pakistani hackers again target Indian websites; bid t o post messages mocking Pahalgam terror victims thwarted

Even after several failed attempts to violate India's cyberspace, Pakistan-sponsored hackers continued their cyber offensives on Thursday. Among the latest cyberattacks, Pakistan-based hacking groups such as "Cyber Group HOAX1337" and "National Cyber Crew" targeted the websites of Army Public School in Nagrota and Sunjuwan and attempted to deface them with messages mocking the victims of the recent Pahalgam terror attack. A website catering to ex-servicemen's healthcare services was defaced. India's layered cybersecurity architecture detected the intrusions in real-time and quickly traced their origin to Pakistan. Amid Pakistan's growing frustrations, repeated attempts have been made by hackers operating the neighbouring country to target websites meant for children, old age veterans and other innocent people. The hacking of the Army Institute of Hotel Management's website and Indian Air Force veterans further illustrates the Pakistani establishment's intent to provoke and escalate tensions in the digital battlespace. On April 29, Pakistan had redirected its efforts towards publicly accessible welfare and educational websites after finding mission-critical national networks impenetrable. Operating under the moniker "IOK Hacker" - Internet of Khilafah, the group tried to deface pages, disrupt online services and harvest personal data. Pakistani troops resorted to unprovoked firing along the Line of Control (LoC) and International Border (IB) in five districts of Jammu and Kashmir, prompting retaliation from the Indian Army, officials said on Friday. This is the eighth consecutive night of unprovoked firing along the LoC, amid heightened tensions following the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam in which 26 people were killed. Civilians living along the LoC and IB have begun cleaning their community and individual bunkers to make them habitable in case shelling happens. 'During the night of May 1-2, 2025, Pakistani Army posts resorted to unprovoked small arms fire from posts across the LoC opposite Kupwara, Baramulla, Poonch, Naushera, and Akhnoor areas of Jammu and Kashmir,' a defence spokesperson in Jammu said.

India successfully foiling Pak's repeated attempts to hack websites of military establishments

New Delhi, May 2 (UNI) Amid the rise in bilateral tensions following the Pahalgam attack, Pakistan has been persistently trying to hack the websites of Indian military establishments, but these are being effectively thwarted by Indian cyber security agencies. Security sources said on Friday that Pakistan-sponsored hacker groups, 'Cyber Group HOAX1337' and 'National Cyber Crew', frustrated by the continuous steps taken by India, are continuously carrying out cyber attacks on Indian websites. These groups also made unsuccessful attempts to hack into some websites on Thursday. Cyber security agencies immediately detected these hacking attempts and neutralised them. In the latest incident of provocation, the websites of Army Public School Nagrota and Sunjuwan were targeted and attempts were made to deface them with messages mocking the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack. In another incident, a website related to health services for ex-servicemen was defaced, indicating Pakistan's growing desperation. Sources said that hackers operating from Pakistan are repeatedly attempting to attack websites related to children, ex-servicemen and other innocent people. They said that attacking the platforms of ex-servicemen and families is yet another dastardly act by Pakistan and reflects its continuing efforts to operate through unethical means. The hacking of the websites of the Army Institute of Hotel Management and Indian Air Force Veterans by Pakistan-sponsored hackers further highlights the intent of the Pakistani establishment to instigate and escalate tensions in the digital battlefield. Sources said these brazen cyber attacks are part of a larger pattern of provocation by Pakistan. Pakistan, in desperation, has been using terrorism and information warfare against India for a long time. Sources said that it seems that by doing these acts, Pakistan is testing India's patience and restraint. UNI RBE RN

Pakistan's desperate cyber provocations, repeated hacking attempts foiled by India

Pakistan's desperate cyber provocations, repeated hacking attempts foiled by India In a continued wave of cyber offensives, Pakistan-sponsored hacker groups such as 'Cyber Group HOAX1337' and 'National Cyber Crew' made unsuccessful attempts to breach some websites yesterday, news agency ANI reported. These hacking efforts were promptly identified and neutralised by cybersecurity agencies. One of the most disturbing attempts was made on the websites of Army Public School Nagrota and Sunjuwan. These sites were targeted to spread hateful messages about the victims of the recent Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed 26 lives. In another incident, a healthcare website dedicated to ex-servicemen was defaced, highlighting the extent of desperation shown by Pakistan-backed hackers, reported ANI. There have been many similar attempts in recent days. Hackers are choosing websites related to children, war veterans, and civilians. Targeting such innocent people shows the unethical ways in which these groups are operating. According to ANI, the websites of the Army Institute of Hotel Management and Indian Air Force veterans were also attacked. These actions clearly show that Pakistan is trying to trouble India and create problems online. On April 29, after failing to breach important defence systems, Pakistani hackers shifted their focus to public websites, like those used for education and welfare. A group calling itself 'IOK Hacker' (Internet of Khilafah) tried to deface pages, disturb services, and steal personal information. However, India's strong cybersecurity setup caught these attacks in real-time and traced them back to Pakistan. Four related hacking cases were confirmed by Indian intelligence. These included attacks on the websites of Army Public School (APS) Srinagar and APS Ranikhet, both of which were flooded with hateful content. APS Srinagar also faced a DDoS (distributed denial-of-service) attack to crash the website. Hackers also tried to access the database of the Army Welfare Housing Organisation and the job portal for retired Indian Air Force personnel. All these websites were secured quickly, and no sensitive or secret information was leaked. These cyberattacks are part of Pakistan's long-standing tactic of creating unrest in India, whether through terrorism or digital attacks. It looks like they are now trying to test India's patience in the cyber world as well. Meanwhile, the Pakistan Army resorted to unprovoked small arms firing across the Line of Control for the eighth day of the night of May 1 and the early hours of May 2. India n Army has effectively responded to the unprovoked firing in areas opposite Kupwara, Baramulla, and Poonch districts, as well as in the Naushera and Akhnoor sectors in Jammu and Kashmir (J-K). The firing started on April 25 days after the Pahalgam Terror attack in which 26 tourists were killed. Indian troops acted responsibly and responded in a controlled way to Pakistan's unprovoked firing, as confirmed by the Indian Army. (With ANI Inputs)
